The Young and the Restless Recap: Wednesday, August 2 – Summer Ready to Move On from Kyle – Jack & Diane’s Awful News

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 2, reveals that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will show up at Crimson Lights with a picnic basket full of breakfast goodies, but Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will have to rush off to a meeting. Chance will understand and happily accept the lunch offer that Sharon gives him instead.

At the Abbott house, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will bring Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) breakfast in bed as they continue to celebrate their new marriage.

Diane will feel confident that they can handle anything thrown at them and that they’ll be together forever.

Later, Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will meet up with Diane and Jack at the office.

Once Summer learns Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is on a New York business trip with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), she’ll grumble about him sleeping with her.

Jack won’t think Summer should make that assumption, but Summer will point out that Kyle confessed right to her face.

After Summer leaves on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Jack and Diane will worry about Kyle using Audra to escape from his problems and damaging his marriage beyond repair.

Once Summer bumps into Chance at the coffeehouse, she’ll see that he’s got a picnic basket.

Chance will admit that his picnic for two fell through, so he’ll suggest Summer could join him for breakfast.

Although Summer won’t have much of an appetite, she’ll agree to grab some coffee and sit with Chance during his own meal.

In the park, Summer will talk about Kyle’s trip with Kyle and how she’s struggling to let go.

Chance will point out that Summer is grieving the loss of her marriage and the life she thought she’d share with Kyle.

When Chance asks how Summer would feel if Kyle forgave her now, she’ll admit she doesn’t think they can go back to how things were before.

Chance will feel like it’s a big step for Summer to admit there’s no chance of reconciliation.

After Chance notices a specific bird and points it out to Summer, he’ll reveal that he learned when he was a boy scout. Summer will also talk about her days of being in a girl scout type of troop called the sunflower girls.

Sharon will end up pushing her meeting back so that she can join Chance, but she’ll see that Summer has replaced her for the picnic.

Summer will take that as her cue to leave despite Sharon’s insistence that there should be plenty of food.

After Summer thanks Chance and walks away, she’ll pause to look back at him settling in on the picnic blanket with Sharon.

Sharon will acknowledge that Chance is being a good friend to Summer, but he’ll want to focus on Sharon instead.

There’ll be some lovey-dovey moments between them as Chance feeds Sharon a blueberry and leans in for a kiss.

Back at Jabot, Summer will let Jack look at a press release before he wonders if she’s OK. Diane will seem concerned as well and will await Summer’s answer.

Summer will admit she’s not OK now, but she’ll add that she will be.

As Summer gathers her strength, she’ll suggest she’s accepting the end of her marriage. If Kyle can move on, Summer will feel like she can move on, too.

In a GCAC suite, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will tell Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) that she’s realized there’s no saving Jack, so she’ll want to focus on their own venture and the plan to save Jabot.

After Jack strategies with Jack and Diane briefly, he’ll meet with Ashley at the athletic club. That’ll allow Ashley to make a pitch about Billy being in the prime position to expose Diane.

Ashley will feel like Billy can push Diane’s buttons, make sure she goes over the edge and show Jack her true colors. There’ll be talk about Diane going after the co-CEO spot and ruining the company with her own ambitions.

Once Diane reveals her real agenda, Ashley will try to convince Billy that they can be the ones to swoop in and save John Abbott’s (Jerry Douglas) legacy.

After Billy agrees to think about it, he’ll reconvene with Jack and Diane with updates. Billy will note that Ashley asked him to join her version of their plan and become a Trojan horse for her at Jabot.

Billy will explain how Ashley wants Diane’s bad decisions to ruin Jabot just enough so that Simply Ashley can take over.

After Billy insists it’s the ultimate power play, Diane will argue this is a good thing since Ashley trusted Billy with this information. It’ll leave Diane eager to figure out how they can use this info to their advantage.

At the Chancellor mansion, Tucker will talk to Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) about trying to rein in Ashley’s feud with Jack.

Since Devon will have concerns about Ashley and Abby Newman-Abbott’s (Melissa Ordway) bond, Tucker will want to help with that, too.

Once Tucker meets back up with Ashley, she’ll admit there may be hope to save Jack after all. Ashley will mention that Billy seems to be leaning toward helping them.

As for Ashley and Abby’s relationship, Tucker will push Ash to make things right and not let the family feud come between them.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Ashley could face more hurdles with Abby thanks to her upcoming moves, so stay tuned for news on their connection.
