The Young and the Restless Recap: Wednesday, May 24 – Phyllis Texts Summer to Meet – Nate Pumps Brakes on Audra

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, May 24, reveals that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will secretly meet with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) in her GCAC suite, where he’ll throw himself a pity party over Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) and Devon Hamilton-Winters’ (Bryton James) backlash.

However, Nate will also have some news since Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) suspects Nate could be going after his job or Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) job.

Audra won’t see how Nick’s suspicions help them, but Nate will point out that he subtly let Victoria know he was indeed open to moving up at the company – and Victoria had no problem with it.

Nate will also act like it’s helpful to keep driving this wedge between Victoria and Nick.

The war with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) at McCall Unlimited will also come up, so Audra will think she can be a secret weapon since she previously worked with Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) and knows the company well.

Although Audra will ask how they fast-track their plans, Nate will insist patience is crucial and will suggest she needs to be playing a different game if she has an issue with that.

At Newman Enterprises, Victoria will try to shut down Nikki’s attempts to discuss her relationship with Nate.

Nikki will understand Nick and Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) concerns, but she’ll ultimately back off and let Victoria trust her own instincts. Victoria will be grateful for Nikki’s support and will pull her into a hug.

Afterward, Victoria will bump into Adam at Society, so they’ll push each other’s buttons about the battle that’s brewing.

Although Victoria won’t think Adam’s going to present a real challenge against Newman Media, she’ll welcome the fun of a bump in the road.

At the Abbott house, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will come home to find Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) lashing out at Tucker, so she’ll immediately side with the latter.

Jack will rant about Ashley trying to stage a coup and will insist any attempt is going to fail. There’ll also be more feuding over Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and everyone’s living arrangements.

Diane will appear and push for peace, but Ashley will continue to bicker with Jack as she defends Tucker and ultimately lies that he’s now her fiancé.

Jack and Diane will seem skeptical considering Ashley didn’t even want Tucker in the same room until recently, but Ashley will try to sell the idea of a happy engagement anyway.

Once Diane’s alone with Jack, she’ll express hope that maybe they can all be one big happy family someday, so he’ll marvel at her generosity toward Ashley.

In the park later, Ashley will be grateful to Tucker for giving her the engagement idea and backing her up.

Tucker will recall that Ashley said she loved him during her speech defending him earlier, so he’ll wonder if that was real or for dramatic effect.

Y&R spoilers say Tucker will put Ashley on the spot by asking her to look him in the eyes and repeat that she loves him.

At the GCAC, things will be tense between Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) as they try to settle on a day camp for Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez).

Summer will eventually apologize for shutting Kyle out and will admit she doesn’t deserve all this support.

Kyle will reassure Summer and will be glad they’re trying to be a team again.

Unfortunately, there’ll be more trouble once Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) comes along.

In private, Daniel will continue to defend the secret spillage regarding Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) since he’s trying to help her, but Summer will worry about the consequences their mother could face.

Once Kyle runs into Lucy Romalotti (Lily O’Briant) ahead of her manicure, he’ll bring her over to Daniel and Summer’s table.

Lucy will insist she’s sorry about what Phyllis and Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) did to Kyle’s mom.

The whole thing will leave Lucy wondering how Phyllis and Jeremy could do something so terrible.

After Summer speaks with Daniel alone again, she’ll blast him for spreading the secret even further.

Summer will rant about Daniel ruining everything for Phyllis, who could get thrown in prison.

Daniel will bring up Diane deserving her own freedom, but Summer won’t think it’s a fair trade.

Although Summer will know this isn’t fair to Kyle, she’ll insist she doesn’t have all the answers.

Summer will also mention trying to get in touch with Phyllis through the number she previously reached out on, but she’ll admit she hasn’t heard back.

It’ll leave Summer worried that Phyllis got updates on Daniel spilling her survival news and got scared away.

Daniel will argue that he only told the people necessary to get Phyllis the help she needs, but Summer will insist on living in reality – where Daniel’s made everything worse!

When Kyle comes back to some brother-sister tension, he’ll privately ask Summer when she’s going to cut Daniel a break.

Summer won’t think Daniel deserves one and will feel like she’s the only one concerned with protecting Phyllis.

After Summer tries to dash off, Kyle will remind her that they’re supposed to be a team and will wonder how he can convince her.

Summer will get a phone call and annoy Kyle by answering it in the middle of their conversation, but no one will be on the other end.

Once Kyle gets fed up and leaves for work, Summer will get a text that says to meet her in an hour at a TBD location. It’ll leave Summer hopeful that Phyllis is finally reaching out.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Summer will continue to land in some tight spots, so stick with Y&R.
