The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that some serious missteps have been made in the latest Newman brother love triangle. We understand the drama of Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) falling for the same woman, but this Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) romantic saga has been a disaster.
Instead of playing up Sally’s old feelings for Adam and their magnetic pull, the show spent far too long having her complain and berate him.
Adam looked like an obsessed loser while Sally dug her heels in with Nick.
Next, Y&R chose to have Sally’s pregnancy end in tragedy instead of a baby that could’ve brought her back together with Adam.
They also had Sally irrationally blame Adam for that loss when it certainly wasn’t his fault.
Although Sally is finally softening toward Adam and understanding his perspective more, whatever magic she once had with Adam seems to be gone.
It feels like the show waited too long to reunite these ex-lovers, so that could be a problem.
Y&R’s August 3 episode features some close Sally and Adam moments – including some hand-holding and her offer to listen once he’s ready to accept the reality of their loss.
If this is the show’s attempt to shift things in a more romantic direction for Sally and Adam, it may be too little, too late!
The chemistry has fizzled and the vibe’s become awkward since Sally spent so many months acting like Adam was the scum of the earth.
They can try to revive the pairing, but things may never be the same for this duo.
Do you still want an Adam and Sally reunion or should they both move on romantically? Are Sally and Adam better off with other people?
Of course, a genuine friendship would still be nice, so we’ll see what Adam and Sally’s relationship looks like down the road.
