In tonight’s 9-1-1 episode, the bees were still on a rampage. They attacked the launch party of a perfume. They also gathered together and created this huge bee cloud. It made it impossible to fly through. Several planes crashed when they accidentally flew into said bee cloud. The bees were killing more people than a natural disaster.

The planes or at least most of them hadn’t been informed beforehand about the bee cloud. If they had, Athena never would never have escorted a prisoner onto a plane landing in LAX. She was escorting Dennis Jenkins. He was the guy that killed her fiancé over thirty years ago. He’s since made a deal with the federal government and now people were trying to kill him.

Jenkins had been cell mates with a human trafficker. The human trafficker found underage girls for powerful and nearly untouchable men and women. His name was Maxwell Fulton.

He was protected for a long time. It took forever to arrest him. The feds finally got him and he was in prison for less than a year when he killed himself. Prison wasn’t a great experience for him. Fulton was a pedophile. He had people constantly beating him up or stabbing him. He survived one stabbing encounter thanks to Jenkins.

Jenkins got him help in time. Fulton spent a few days at a hospital. When he came back, he knew he could trust Jenkins with his secrets. He never suspected that Jenkins had been intentionally put in the same cell as him as an informant.

Or that his cellmate also hates pedophiles. Fulton thought he could trust Jenkins and so he told him everything. He gave his new buddy all the names the federal government needed. Fulton went on to kill himself and now it was just Jenkins that could help the government put these powerful people away.

Jenkins was in stationed in an Arizona prison. He needed to be transferred to LA. He agreed to testify for the federal government as long as it was Athena escorting him. People were trying to kill him.

He couldn’t trust the average cop not to turn on him. He named Athena because he knows for a fact she would do her job. She already saved him from getting taken by a fake FBI Agent on the drive from prison. She took him on a plane because she figured it would be easier to protect him. Everything was going fine until the bees screwed it all up.

The bees created such confusion in the air that two planes collided into each other. Pieces of the second plane was stuck in the first plane. It created a gap in the ceiling that sucked out the pilot of Athena’s plane. The co-pilot also got injured. It was therefore up to Athena to save the day. She called 911.

She got Josh. Josh connected to her to air traffic control. Those people have never dealt with a situation like the bee apocalypse before. The only way to help Athena was to use a simulator to help her guide the plane into landing.

Athena never flew a plane before. She didn’t entirely trust a simulator to help her. Those things were like video games. They start over after a crash and that was impossible in real life.

Athena still gave it her best shot. She also had her friends at the 118 on the phone with passengers. The firefighters helped the passengers treat some of their injuries. There was a teen girl that broke a leg. There was an older guy that had an asthma attack. Jenkins even helped treat some people. Athena also received help from a young boy that was super into planes.

Athena didn’t know what the gadgets were. The little boy did. He helped her to turn the plane around. There was still the issue of landing the plane and Athena didn’t want to traumatize the kid.

He went back to sit with his father. Athena turned to Jenkins to be her co-pilot. Jenkins had saved a teenage girl’s life. He created a shiv out of a toothbrush and a lighter. He performed a small procedure on her. She was feeling a lot better. Things were finally looking up when the plane began to fall apart even more.

Jenkins asked Athena if there was someone she trusted enough to pick up Fulton’s black book. Fulton had told Jenkins where he hid it. Jenkins was using that to get out of prison and now he’s not sure if he should get out even if they survived the flight. He told Athena where the book was. She tried telling Bobby.

Bobby had his phone turned off. He was acting as a consultant on a tv set. They had a rule about turning off their phones on the set. Buck was also calling Bobby. And everyone kept getting his voicemail.

Athena was also getting in trouble. She never showed up at the agreed time with the prisoner. The feds were now saying they chose the wrong person to escort Jenkins.

They were threatening to get Athena fired. They had no clue about the plane accident. Athena meanwhile turned back to the little boy for help. His name is Jem. He was traveling with his dad. His mom passed away and now their family takes vacations to all the places she wanted to travel to and never got the chance. Athena tried guiding the plane without Jem. She simply didn’t know it as well as he did.

The plane was landing in LA. Firefighters from all around the city were being called to the airport. Buck told his friends he’d catch up to them after he gets Bobby. Buck went to the set.

He told Bobby about Athena. They raced to the scene. They had to take an actor with them. He was a method actor and he wanted to see real action. It would have taken longer to ditch than it was to bring him with them. So, Bobby brought him with them.

And the episode ended with Athena performing CPR on the one actual pilot they still had left.

THE END!
