In tonight’s Chicago Fire episode, Carver got into a fight with Tori. He wanted to be better at work. He didn’t stay out late at some bar with her and so she had an attitude.

She kept telling Carver that he could get another job. She didn’t see how much being a firefighter meant to him. Carver loves his job. He loves helping people. He lost his way when Tori first got into town, but he now remembers how much he loves the job. He tried to tell her that.

She didn’t want to hear it because she didn’t like anything or anyone else being important to him. She wanted to be his sole focus and that was never going to last. Carver went into work early. He told his lieutenant that he was back and that he wouldn’t let her down again.

The conversation felt familiar. They’ve had it once before. Carver knew he was riding the line this time around and so he stayed on his best behavior. Their first call they later received just happened to have Captain Bishop on the scene. The state officer made sure to approach Kidd. She had no idea who he was.

Or why he was there. He seemed like he enjoyed toying with her. Kidd didn’t realize it at the time only she had just been threatened. Captain Bishop was a dirty cop. Her husband was investigating him with their new Chief.

Chief Pascal was working alongside Internal Affairs. He was deep in conversation with Captain Vonn of that department. He was helping her make a case and Severide found out about it.

He wanted to help take guy down. Both firefighters spoke with Vonn earlier that day. They thought they were discreet and then Bishop followed Kidd onto a scene. He wanted Severide to know that he could get to his wife at any time. Bishop was threatening their families. Severide knew this wouldn’t be the last occurrence and he still went ahead with the investigation with Pascal.

They went back to the storage facility that kicked everything off. Bishop was using one of the storage lockers to make ghost guns. The whole facility caught fire one day and the firefighters found the guns.

They reported it. Bishop took over the scene. He said his people will investigate. He made a big show and nothing ever happened. They buried evidence. The sole witness that day disappeared. The guy pretended to be a victim and Vonn determined that he was making the ghost guns for Bishop when something went wrong.

Vonn stopped by the station with surveillance photos of Bishop. This included his inner circle. Severide recognized Bishop’s criminal informant as “Ryan’. The man they saved from the storage locker that day. It turns out Ryan’s real name was Devin Staples. The firefighters later got to question Devin. Vonn brought him in. The three of them interrogated the guy and he was scared. He didn’t want to go against Bishop. He also didn’t want to go down for the ghost guns. He pretended as if he really was a homeless guy that was sleeping in one of the lockers.

Neither Vonn nor the local police had anything on Devin to arrest him. He asked if he was being charged and Vonn was forced to tell him that he could leave at any time. He naturally took her up on that offer. He was out there. He was probably going to go on the run. The firefighters had scared him when they talked to him. They told him that Bishop would want blood for Devin messing up at the storage locker. He must have agreed with them because he was looking pale when he ran off. And there’s no telling where he’ll show up next.

Violet in the meantime received a very odd request. She was dating again. Finn seemed like a good guy. They’ve gone mini golfing. She hasn’t opened up to him and so him inviting to her to be his date at his relative’s funeral made her question of their relationship. Should she open up? The last time she did that she had to watch her boyfriend die right in front of her.

She almost had something with Carver until Carver came back from Texas with a girlfriend. A very problematic girlfriend at that. Violet wasn’t sure what she wanted and so she took a risk. She told Finn about her ex.

He understood. He also realized why a funeral might be triggering for her. He took her out to get something to eat and they left the funeral up to the crooks. It turns out Finn’s family has a colorful history with the police. There was one aunt that was wearing an ankle monitor at the funeral. Violet was still smiling about it when she went into work.

Her new partner also had news. Novak wanted ambulances to carry blood bags. There were other paramedic companies that do it. Chicago needed it too. It could save so many lives.

Novak interviewed people. She wrote a plan of action. She just has to sell it to Robinson and they’d be set. None of the firefighters knew about Bishop.

They weren’t concerned in the slightest. They didn’t know that Bishop left a letter for Pascal at his home. The new chief had to send his wife to stay with her sister so that she could be safe. Kidd was considered safe because she’s always surrounded by her people. Kidd was more concerned about Carver than she was about Bishop. Carver’s girlfriend stopped by the firehouse with food for everyone. She made lots of friends.

She also made things awkward for Carver. Tori was talking a lot about their relationship. She said they’re passionate one moment and yelling at each other the next. Kidd could see that Tori wasn’t good for Carver. Carver was also starting to see that as well. He leaned on her to help get over Violet.

He’s better now and he thinks he might need a break from Tori. But the firefighters got called to Bishop’s home. Someone set his car on fire. His whole garage went up. Severide made sure to take the call and he managed to find a collection of illegal weapons in Bishop’s garage.

The fire was similar to the storage fire. Severide thought at first that Devin might have set the fire in order to expose Bishop. Only he was wrong. Devin was under surveillance. He was nowhere near Bishop’s home. Chief Pascal on the other hand didn’t have an alibi and he was real glad that Bishop couldn’t threaten his wife again. He and Severide also celebrated Bishop’s arrest with cigars.

As for Tori, she gave Carver the space he wanted by going back to Texas.

Mouch was studying for the lieutenant’s test when he had a panic attack. Cruz had to talk him down. He also told Mouch that any crew would be happy to have him. And so he has to decide if he wants to climb the political ladder.

And Violet introduced Finn to her friends.

THE END!
