Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that preparations are underway to honor the memory of Bill Hayes (Doug Williams), who passed away back in January. The show will no doubt celebrate Hayes’ life and talent as everyone says a tough goodbye to Doug in Salem.
Based on some news that’s been leaking from behind the scenes, it sounds like Doug’s funeral episodes are about to be filmed.
Two blast-from-the-past returns have been announced on The Locher Room, so let’s talk about those.
Stephen Schnetzer is reprising the role of Steve Olson, so Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) will have a reunion with her brother just in time to get some comfort as she bids farewell to Doug.
Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) also confirmed that Gloria Loring is making a comeback as Liz Chandler, who was a popular character during her run from 1980-1986.
Of course, these returns are probably just the tip of the iceberg!
The fact that Days is diving deep into the past and bringing back some characters that haven’t been seen in decades says a lot about the thought that’s going into Doug’s memorial.
It sounds like DOOL’s going all out with plenty of familiar faces, so that may include bigger names like Hope Williams Brady (Kristian Alfonso) and other beloved Days characters, too.
There’s no word on the details of Doug’s demise and how Julie will find out that difficult news, but we’ll be sure to give you updates as more info comes in.
Regardless, it’ll be a painful loss for many Salemites along with those who used to call Salem home once upon a time.
So many people know and love Doug, which means they’ll want to pay their respects and reflect on some important memories.
Due to Days’ advance filming schedule, it’ll take some time before Doug’s funeral finally plays out.
Until then, we’ll await Doug’s final scenes since those haven’t aired just yet.
Bill Hayes deserves an amazing sendoff, so it’s nice to hear some positive things and know the show has some good stuff in store.
