Fire Country Recap

There was a warrant out for Manny’s arrest. He punched a guy. He committed assault and the other guy was enough of a jerk to pursue charges. Luke Leone didn’t care about helping people. He merely wants to move up through the ranks of CalFire. Its why he was now nominating Eve for a bigger role.

She saved Three Rock. She saved the prisoner probationary fire camp. He now wants her to control all of the fire camps throughout the state. She would have to move to Sacramento full time.

She would also miss out Bode’s first year out. He received Good Conduct Credit. He was released from prison and Freddie was there to welcome him back to the outside world.

Manny should have been there. He shouldn’t be on the run. He would have been so proud of Bode. He could also be there for Gabriela. Gabriela’s whole world was burning down around her.

She was about to get married. She was marrying a nice guy, but they’ve been together for less than a year. They were in a relationship for about three months when she pushed the marriage talk. She started pushing for kids too.

Diego was everything she thought she needed. He was stable. He has a good job. He has a great family. And Gabriela never had any of that.

Gabriela’s parents broke up too soon. Her mother lives in Europe. Her father was struggling with his gambling addiction. She missed her one and only prom because they were hiding from the repo man. She was running towards Diego as a means of starting over.

She told her mother not to come back from Europe. She couldn’t get in contact with her dad. She was pushing ahead with the wedding. Even if she was trauma dumping on the priest that was going to officiate the ceremony. Diego heard about that last one and he asked Gabriela if she wanted to postpone the wedding.

Diego wanted to marry Gabriela when she was in the right headspace. He didn’t want her to be unhappy at the wedding. Only Gabriela said she didn’t want to postpone.

She wanted to go ahead with everything. She knew she would probably have to walk down the aisle by herself and she was lying to herself as well as to others when she said that was fine. It wasn’t fine.

She was a major daddy’s girl. She wanted her dad at her wedding. She couldn’t reach him on the phone. He wasn’t at his apartment. He was just gone.

Bode was still around though. Bode had this big dinner when he got released. Neither Jake nor Gabriela showed because they wanted to give him space. Bode ended up running into Rick. He was also known as Rick the Rage. He’s the one that lured Bode into drugs the first time.

Bode became addicted. He robbed someone. He got sent to prison for it and that all resulted because of his “friendship” with Rick.

Rick was back in town. He was working a legitimate job in construction. He offered to put in a good word so that Bode could work there too.

Bode needed a job. He was born to be a firefighter. He enjoyed his time at Three Rock. He wishes he could return to firefighting and unfortunately there was a freeze on hiring ex-cons. The freeze happened not long after Manny punched Luke. Anyways, Bode checked.

The construction job didn’t have any ties to drugs. He joined up. He was working outside of a hospital when a fire started. The fire came off in sparks from a machine saw. It set a nearby dumpster on fire. And the dumpster had oxygen tanks in it.

It blew up. It destroyed the closest windows of the hospital. Bode heard a little boy he befriended. The little boy was trapped inside. Bode rushed in there to save lives and he got the little boy out. He went into a burning building with no protective gear.

It was a miracle he didn’t get hurt. He did on the other hand lose the job because he accused Rick of being high on the job. He thought the fire was Rick’s fault. Rick wasn’t going to give him more favors after that. It also didn’t help that Freddie was in town to tell him to stop the wedding.

Freddie found out that Bode kissed Gabriela. He said that’s even more a reason he should stop the wedding. He believes Gabriela still loves Bode and he knows that Bode loves Gabriela. Why couldn’t they be happy together? He talked up Bode.

Bode went to the wedding next day. He planned on stopping it when he ran into Manny. Manny came out of hiding to attend his daughter’s wedding. He wanted to give her the bracelet his grandmother gave his mother on his wedding day. It’s the one thing he didn’t sell.

He held onto it in the hopes of giving it to Gabriela for her wedding.

Which he did. Manny was given enough time to walk his daughter down the aisle. They were police outside of the church and they planned on arresting him the second his duty was over. Manny saw Bode was trying to talk to Gabriela before the ceremony. Manny talked Bode out of it.

He said he’s never his daughter happier than she was that day. He didn’t want Bode to ruin that. Gabriela deserved better than the both of them. Manny walked his daughter down the aisle. Then he went outside and got arrested.

Jake didn’t go to the wedding. He stayed with Genieve. He also ran into Rick. Rick was back in town because he believed he could be Genieve’s dad and he wanted to get to know his kid. And that’s why he cleaned up his act.

And Bode ran into Luke at the wedding. He asked Luke to help him become a firefighter. He didn’t care how many strings Luke had to pull. Bode said that the firefighting was his first healthy addiction. He wanted to keep at it. Luke will probably get him the job if it stops Sharon from reclaiming her job.

The End!
