General Hospital Recap: Friday, May 31 – Jason’s Shootout After Sonny’s Threat – John Suspects Anna’s Pikeman Power

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, May 31, reveals that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) paid Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) a visit at the coffee warehouse and said he was done with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), so he wanted to be done with Jason, too.

Jason refused to let Sonny buy him out of Corinthos Coffee since he was trying to build up Sonny’s legitimate business and protect him. Although Jason warned that Sonny was in real trouble and needed help since he was making sloppy choices, Sonny disagreed.

Sonny fumed over Jason rejecting his offer and made it clear that Jason was gone if he didn’t get out of his way.

Meanwhile, Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) found Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) at the Metro Court and pushed for her insight on all the chaos that Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) witnessed.

Carly spoke off the record about how crushing it’d been for Kristina to see the real version of Sonny, but she felt confident that Kristina and the baby would be OK.

After Molly left, Carly spotted Sonny and got updates on his rejected offer to buy Jason out of Corinthos Coffee. Sonny said what happened next was on Jason, so Carly looked alarmed over that news.

Back at the warehouse, Jason seemed suspicious of someone hiding out in there. Two gunmen eventually engaged in a shootout with Jason, who fired back with his own weapon and dodged their efforts to take him down.

At GH, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) got copies of Gregory Chase’s (Gregory Harrison) death certificate for Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), who offered an explanation for Hamilton Finn’s (Michael Easton) bad choices lately and hoped Liz could understand.

Chase also invited Liz to attend Gregory’s memorial service, so she assured him that she talked to Finn about it and planned on going.

After The Invader published a story on Laura Collins (Genie Francis) wanting to let dangerous Heather Webber (Alley Mills) go free, Laura was upset over the leak and the misleading angle since she was just pushing for her case to be reaxamined.

Once Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) reeled over the article, Curtis decided to get some answers from Laura herself.

As for Portia, she found out John “Jagger” Cates (Adam J. Harrington) had ordered Jack Brennan’s (Charles Mesure) immediate return to Pentonville, so she blocked it since he was still healing from his surgery.

John grilled Brennan about his lawyers’ stall tactics and about Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) role in Pikeman since he speculated that Brennan could’ve handed off power to her.

Brennan said John would have to ask Anna about that, so John insisted he would and took off.

Back with Molly, she ended up in an uncomfortable conversation with TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) about Kristina, so she was relieved when Portia asked to speak with her alone.

Molly was out of the loop about The Invader article, so Portia brought her up to speed and complained since Heather’s victims deserved to see her remain locked away.

After Laura talked to Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) about the PR crisis, Curtis quizzed Laura alone about her intentions regarding Heather.

Laura made it clear that this wasn’t about wanting Heather’s freedom; this was about having Heather’s case reexamined with all the facts since her cobalt poisoning may have been a factor in her crimes.

Although Laura couldn’t make a prediction about what the courts would decide, she felt reevaluating things was fair to Heather.

Curtis reminded Laura of all Heather’s victims and how what happened to them wasn’t fair, so he planned to fight Laura on this alongside Portia.

General Hospital spoilers say Heather’s case will continue to cause quite a stir in Port Charles, so stay tuned. CDL’s the place to be for fantastic General Hospital spoilers, predictions, updates and news, so make us your go-to GH source.
