General Hospital Recap: Thursday, February 1 – Dante’s Grim Esme & Spencer Report – Drew's Delusional Nina Vendetta

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, February 1, reveals Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) told Laura Collins (Genie Francis) that the wounded ship captain was found and that he’d identified Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) as his attacker based on a photo.

Unfortunately, there was no sign of Esme or Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) in the water yet, but Laura insisted that meant they could’ve survived.

Meanwhile, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) hugged Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), who also took Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) hand in the stateroom.

Trina offered updates on how everything played out, including the syringe struggle and how Spencer saved her from Esme’s injection.

After Trina said she knew in her heart that Spencer was alive, Laura appeared and urged her to trust her heart on that.

Trina told Laura about Esme’s plan to get Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) back before Dante returned with some bad news.

It had been 24 hours since Esme and Spencer disappeared, so the search and rescue effort had become a recovery mission.

After Dante said Spencer was presumed deceased, Trina shouted that he was alive and ran out of the room crying.

Portia went after Trina and attempted to comfort her on the deck, but Trina didn’t know how to let Spencer go.

After Trina was alone again, she looked out toward the river and asked Spencer how she was supposed to say goodbye.

Back with Laura, she cried to Curtis and said she couldn’t imagine a world without Spencer in it.

Laura caught up with Trina to console her as well, but Trina took a little more time on her own to reminisce.

With tears streaming down her face, Trina decided this wasn’t goodbye and held out hope for a reunion with Spencer somehow.

Elsewhere, Spencer’s turtledove washed toward the shore.

In the stateroom, there was talk about the extended search and how it would be assumed that the bodies were swept up in the channel if they weren’t found in 48 hours.

Curtis wasn’t sure if it’d be a good thing or a bad thing if Spencer’s body was discovered.

Trina wouldn’t give up without evidence, but Curtis also knew she’d want to see Spencer if he was recovered – and he hated the idea of her going through that.

Portia acknowledged that she’d previously wanted Spencer out of Trina’s life, but she cried since she didn’t want it to happen like this.

Back in Port Charles, Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) told Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) about all her plans for a classic Bensonhurst wedding, so the whole event sounded rather flashy and cheesy.

After Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) recalled Gregory Chase’s (Gregory Harrison) warning to stop all the petty fighting, she acted like she was on board with Lois’ vision.

Chase and Brook Lynn privately admitted they were counting on Tracy to say no, so Tracy later amended her approval and pushed for a much classier formal Quartermaine wedding in Port Charles.

However, Tracy compromised with Lois on having a Coney Island rehearsal dinner that included jetting the guests back in time.

Gregory teased Tracy about getting her on a ride called The Slingshot while Brook Lynn acted like having her loved ones around to celebrate was the most important thing.

At Crimson, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) was worried about putting out her first issue with her name on it, but Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) acted like she was well on her way to being a huge success.

When Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) arrived, he spoke with Drew alone and announced that he was resigning from Aurora.

Michael wasn’t pleased about Drew making the change at Crimson without telling him, which led to more bickering about the SEC informant secret.

In the end, Drew acknowledged that Nina deserved most of the blame and wanted Michael to stay at his job with a few new ground rules.

After Drew talked about wanting to trust Michael again, he admitted his revenge on Nina was far from over.

Drew wanted to make sure Nina kept losing until she was as broke, alone and empty as she deserved to be.

Michael couldn’t risk alienating Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) even further, so he refused to be part of Drew’s vendetta.

Drew respected Michael’s decision and the transparency he offered, so he tore up the resignation letter and expected to see Michael at his desk first thing in the morning.

At GH, Willow brought Adam Wright (Joshua Benard) the guitar Josslyn Jacks (Courtney Fulk) had left for him.

Josslyn spoke to Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) before they joined Adam in his room, where his dad tried to get rid of Joss and threatened to call security.

Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) popped up and defended Josslyn before Adam talked to Felicia alone about his future.

After Adam got dressed and thanked Josslyn for saving his life, he stood up to his father and decided to stay at PCU instead of transferring to another school like his dad wanted.

Adam’s dad made it clear that he wouldn’t pay for it, but Felicia hinted about the music program perhaps recruiting Adam.

After Adam pointed out he could get a job and pay his own way, he told his dad that they had each other’s phone number and could talk later.

Josslyn gave Adam a hug for finally being himself, so they shared a sweet moment.

General Hospital spoilers say Josslyn will turn her attention to the Spencer crisis soon, so stay tuned.
