General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) are feeling stuck when it comes to their fractured romance. Although Michael and Willow will always be there for their children, there are major issues in their marriage that still need to be addressed.
GH fans know Michael is hoping to get things back on track, but Willow’s having a hard time moving beyond all the secrets and lies.
Of course, Willow has resorted to deception at times – like when she kept her leukemia diagnosis a secret – but that’s honestly just more proof of the underlying troubles in this marriage.
Willow has been hit with some harsh truths about trust and the lack of it in her relationship with Michael.
We can’t forget that Michael hid his plot to put Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) in prison at first.
Then, Michael kept quiet about Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) being the SEC informant.
Plus, Michael used that info as leverage to limit Nina’s access to Willow and the kids.
It has to feel rather reminiscent of the cult Willow was trapped in once upon a time since Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) and other controlling members there thought they knew best, too!
The trauma of Willow’s history is something that Michael always needs to be mindful of.
Michael has a good heart deep down, but he’s not respecting Willow enough to let her make her own choices.
Willow and Michael’s marriage is already on fragile ground, so Michael could make things worse if he does anything else that might push Willow over the edge.
Will there be some other hurdle that lands in Michael and Willow’s path? If Michael dares to keep something else from Willow, it could serve as the tipping point and make her see no hope for their future.
New secrets are always just around the corner on soaps, so we won’t be surprised if Michael makes another bad call and perhaps hides something he shouldn’t.
Willow and Michael need total honesty in their marriage if it’s ever going to survive. If Michael can’t give Willow that, it could result in her blindsiding him with divorce papers eventually.
That would definitely be a wake-up call for Michael and would no doubt result in him begging Willow to let him fix this somehow.
In other words, Michael and Willow may not be headed for a divorce just yet, but it could certainly be a possibility if new problems are on the horizon in 2024 – especially if those problems involve more secrets!
