The Young and the Restless Recap: Friday, January 5 – Sharon Dumps Chance After Summer Engagement – Nick Reunion Clues

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, January 5, reveals that Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will fall asleep on the patio of Crimson Lights and dream that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) is sitting across from her in a suit.

Chance will talk about how they’re about to celebrate the deal Sharon just finalized between Kirsten Incorporated and Chancellor-Winters.

Sharon will be confused as Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) arrives and cozies up to Chance like they’re a couple.

Once they all head to the GCAC, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will sing Sharon’s praises for coming up with the collaboration idea.

Sharon will eventually ask if Chance is dating Summer now, so he’ll insist that he hasn’t been with Sharon for a while now – especially since he realized there was only one person for her.

When Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) walks by, Chance will urge Sharon not to let him slip away again.

As the dream continues, Sharon will end up watching Nick sit with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) in the jazz lounge, where Phyllis will act like a reunion with Sharon would never last.

Sharon will end up back in the dining area with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) moments later.

Tessa will think Sharon has an empty heart and will sing a song about love before Mariah urges her mom to take control of the dream.

At one point, Tessa will dance nearby with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), who’ll act like Nick is Sharon’s one true love.

Sharon will rant about all the times Nick hurt her and will feel like she should devote herself to her business.

Next on Friday’s Y&R episode, Chance will make a speech about launching this joint venture as everyone gathers around.

Billy will once again praise Sharon, who’ll make a speech of her own before watching Nick exit with Phyllis.

Sharon will also spy Chance and Summer dancing together as Tessa sings.

After Billy leads Sharon to the coffeehouse, they’ll talk about Phyllis being Nick’s Achilles’ heel.

Sharon won’t think she’s ever truly forgiven Nick or Phyllis for the way they left her alone after Cassie Newman’s (Camryn Grimes) tragedy.

While Phyllis and Billy are playing cards on the patio, Nick will ask Sharon to dance.

There’ll be a conversation about Sharon and Nick’s last failed wedding, so Phyllis will pitch the idea of a reenactment.

Nick, Sharon, Phyllis and Billy will all play their parts as they act out what happened when Nick’s one-night stand with Phyllis came to light at the nuptials.

There’ll be a sitcom laugh track during all the chaos, which will include Sharon slapping Nick.

After the reenactment is over, Nick will acknowledge that he’s been a jerk to Sharon and that he’d never ask for another chance.

Sharon will wonder if Nick would take one if she offered, but he’ll disappear without answering her.

Back at the athletic club, Summer will encourage Sharon to wipe Nick’s slate clean.

Sharon will question if Summer feels guilty for latching onto Chance and will consider the idea that she’s pushing Nick as a consolation prize.

Chance will defend Summer and argue that he doesn’t think Sharon has given up on Nick.

After Chance hints about Sharon trying to find herself, he’ll tell her to remember that the end is in the beginning.

Later, Summer will announce big news and will show off an engagement ring since Chance asked her to marry him.

Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will appear and offer a slow clap as Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) waves goodbye to Mommy.

Sharon will question why they all keep messing things up, but Nick will point out that life isn’t supposed to be perfect.

Once Sharon asks Nick if it was supposed to be them in the end, she’ll wonder if that’s what this dream is about.

After Chance wakes Sharon up at the coffeehouse, he’ll admit he could definitely see himself falling in love with her.

Sharon will find that sweet and flattering, but she’ll reiterate that she doesn’t want anything serious or intense.

Chance will think Sharon’s scared of getting hurt again and will urge her to keep her heart open to the possibilities.

Sharon will push Chance to take his own advice, but he’ll insist that when you’re with the right person, you just know.

However, Sharon will contend that she’s not the woman of Chance’s dreams and won’t know if she ever will be.

Although Chance will tell Sharon that he can see a future with her, she won’t be able to see one with him.

Sharon will gently pull her hand from Chance’s grasp and note that there’s so much more out there.

Sharon will think Chance deserves the best, including a woman who’ll love him with her whole heart.

Chance will think it sounds like Sharon is breaking up with him, so she’ll kiss him and guess that she is.

In the GCAC dining area, Summer will quiz Nick about his failed relationships with Phyllis, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Sharon.

Nick will acknowledge that with Sharon, he broke her heart too many times – and there was no coming back from that.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sharon and Nick could be gearing up for a reunion if the show follows up on all the hints, so stay tuned for updates on whether “Shick” will reconnect.
