The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that the show’s going to need a new storyline to grab fans’ attention soon. Jordan (Colleen Zenk) and her insane antics got the job done for a while, but it’s time to start preparing for the next big thing!
Y&R had success when they brought sinister Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) back to derail Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) life.
Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) quickly got tangled up in all that mayhem.
Then, they introduced Jordan to unleash chaos on Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and other members of the Newman family.
Perhaps it’s Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins-Abbott’s (Susan Walters) turn to deal with a lunatic character who’s out for revenge. Could Patty Williams’ wild return be in the works?
Diane and Jack have a perfectly happy marriage, so maybe it’s time to shake up their world and bring some serious challenges.
It makes sense to bring back Patty since Jack’s old affair with Diane is what drove Patty over the edge in the first place.
Patty might escape from Fairview or wherever she’s locked up these days. If Patty knows about Diane and Jack’s reunion, that could lead to her targeting them.
Of course, Patty’s mental health status seems to change based on whatever the story calls for. There have been times when Patty was so far gone that she just rambled about kitties and candy.
Patty has also been in a catatonic state before, but maybe she’s recovered enough now to be a proper villainess against Diane and Jack.
Since this is a soap where far-fetched things happen all the time, Y&R might even do a story where it’s decided that Patty is rehabilitated.
If Patty is released, she might pretend she’s fine – only to spiral out of control on Jack and Diane in a big way.
Stacy Haiduk plays Kristen DiMera on Days of Our Lives, but it doesn’t look like she’s on contract – and that could open the door to her coming back to Y&R as Patty Williams, too.
Then again, it’s possible the role of Patty could be recast, especially since Patty’s had plastic surgery before and could do it again to hide her identity.
No matter how it happens, it seems like the timing would be great for Patty Williams to return and stir up trouble.
