The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) could be headed for trouble due to this stressful situation as Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) sponsor. Nikki already blames herself for Seth (Brian Gaskill) falling off the wagon, but could Jack face some struggles of his own and get pushed over the edge?
Jack was addicted to painkillers once upon a time, which is exactly why Nikki wants to lean on him now.
Since Jack understands what it’s like to be addicted and deal with the difficult journey of recovery, Nikki needs him more than ever.
Although Jack seems like a strong source of stability at the moment, his stress may skyrocket once Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) discovers the truth.
Victor doesn’t trust Jack and will trust him even less once he finds out his old foe has been sneaking around as Nikki’s sponsor.
Of course, Y&R fans know Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) is a constant source of drama for the Abbotts, so he may stir up some other issues that add to Jack’s problems.
Since Jack’s old addiction has been on his mind lately, he could be tempted to reach for some pills when it all becomes too tough to cope with.
That’s especially true if Jack gets tangled up in all the Jordan (Colleen Zenk) escape chaos.
It’s easy to imagine some ordeal that leads to Jack getting injured – and that’d be the perfect reason for him to get hooked on painkillers again.
Is Jack headed for a relapse that’ll affect his behavior in some unpredictable ways?
Jack might go off the rails and cheat on Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) or make some moves that ultimately put Jabot in jeopardy.
Whatever the case, Jack isn’t invincible and could be just as susceptible to a relapse as Seth or anyone else.
If that’s where this storyline is headed, Nikki may hold herself responsible for Jack’s renewed struggles – which could certainly add to her own temptation.
It could even lead to Nikki and Jack doing something crazy like landing in bed together if she’s drunk and he’s back to popping pills!
