The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has been stuck in romantic limbo ever since he accepted that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) belonged with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
The show has teased the possibility of a Nick and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) reunion, but that hasn’t really gone anywhere so far.
Not too long ago, fans were also given a little taste of seeing Nick and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) together again.
After Danny Romalotti’s (Michael Damian) rejection, Phyllis got drunk and kissed Nick in her suite at the GCAC.
Of course, Nick was a gentleman and rejected Phyllis’ offer to hit the sheets with him for multiple reasons.
Even so, it was a reminder of the excellent chemistry that Nick and Phyllis have always shared.
A new behind-the-scenes photo points to that same chemistry as well. There’s no denying that Phyllis and Nick look good together!
Although Nick and Phyllis’ romantic attempts haven’t worked out in the past, is Y&R missing a golden reunion opportunity now?
Phyllis claims she’s changed, but she certainly hasn’t proven that so far.
Since Phyllis has been so caught up in pursuing Danny and feuding with Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell), she hasn’t done anything to show she’s different.
We’re still seeing the same immature schemer that we’ve always seen!
However, this could be the show’s chance to put Phyllis back with Nick for a more mature romance this time around.
If Phyllis could actually turn her life around and stop all the childish games, she might have time to focus on an actual adult relationship.
That said, some fans feel like the ship has sailed with Nick and Phyllis, so it’s possible a permanent breakup is for the best.
It took Nick some time to get over Phyllis’ faked demise and all the pain that caused for Summer Newman (Allison Lanier), but they’re in a pretty good place as friends now.
A romantic reunion could ruin that and end in catastrophe once more.
Phyllis and Nick may want to focus on staying pals and co-parents, but that won’t stop us from noticing the “Phick” chemistry that pops right out – even in pics!
