The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) could be on the verge of a major co-parenting feud. There could be some serious hurdles ahead, so let’s talk about what’s in store.
Kyle and Summer usually get along pretty well when it comes to Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) and the choices they make as a team.
It’s clear that Kyle typically values Summer’s input since he mentioned that he needed to talk to her about Harrison’s replacement nanny.
Since Harrison’s other nanny had to leave town for an extended visit with her ailing mother, Kyle is going to need someone else to help care for him.
Kyle and Summer would normally make a decision like this together, but this could be one time when Kyle eventually goes rogue.
There must be a reason why Y&R has focused so much on Claire Grace’s (Hayley Erin) love for working with children.
Since Kyle obviously needs a new love interest, the writing’s on the wall for Claire to fill that nanny position for Harrison sooner or later.
This would be an excellent opportunity for Summer and Kyle to struggle with some co-parenting drama.
After everything Claire put Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) through and her connection to all the Jordan (Colleen Zenk) mayhem, it’s easy to see why Summer would be wary of her.
No one could blame Summer for not wanting Harrison to be cared for someone fresh out of the psych ward – particularly someone who helped pump Grandma Nikki full of vodka during a kidnapping crisis!
Nevertheless, Kyle may be smitten by Claire and find himself willing to excuse all her previous behavior.
Since Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and even Nikki herself have been willing to accept Claire, Kyle may act like Summer’s being unfair.
It won’t be very entertaining if Summer and Kyle both think hiring Claire is an amazing idea.
Y&R might as well bring some conflict here and have Summer object to Kyle’s new nanny pick.
Summer might suspect that Kyle is letting his budding attraction to Claire affect his judgment, but he could accuse her of being jealous of him moving on.
However, Kyle has to meet Claire and start getting to know her before this nanny development can happen.
