In tonight’s Tracker episode, Russell Shaw reentered Colter’s life. Russell has been trying to get into contact for months. He started by calling Colter. He moved on to calling all of Colter’s friends when that didn’t work. He even tried to get their baby sister to set up a meeting. Russell never showed. Which Colter figured was a sign.

Colter thought that would be it and then his brother managed to track him down in the middle of the night. Colter was parked. He was in his airstream. He was surprised to see someone approaching his home and so he pulled out his gun. Colter didn’t bother putting it away when he saw it was just Russell. He doesn’t like nor trust his brother.

Not when he thought his brother was killer. Russell left the family home after their father died. The two brothers haven’t talked in over twenty years. Colter always suspected that Russell killed their father and so Russell tried to deny those charges straight away tonight. He said he didn’t harm dad. When he found him, he was already dead.

Russell believed their father was pushed. It just wasn’t him. He thought maybe their dad was in some trouble with a man he saw him talking to. Russell also saw the same man talking to their mother. And he suspected their mother knew more than she let on.

Their mother did her best to convince the younger kids that Russell killed their dad. She warned Colter from getting in touch with Russell. She probably tried a similar tact with Dory, but Dory doesn’t trust her. She knew their mother is unstable. Its why she lives off the grid. Its why she has minimal contact with the outside world.

Their parents were both erratic and that could be what killed their father. Russell didn’t know. Dory didn’t know. Colter believed his mother’s story and he was only questioning now that he’s an adult. He found out that their mother sent Russell away after their father died.

Russell was eighteen. He didn’t have money or contacts. He enlisted in the military because that included housing and a salary. Russell reentered Colter’s life now because he needs help. He has a buddy that’s missing. Doug and Russell served in the same unit in the military. They left the same time.

They both joined a private security firm called the “Horizon Group”. Russell thought Doug was suffering from PTSD. He thinks that’s why his buddy disappeared and he didn’t suspect differently until he and Colter went to Doug’s house. Someone sent Doug’s wife a human finger.

Tracey hasn’t called the cops. Only a human finger was never good. Russell and Colter tracked where the finger came from. It came off a body in the morgue. They broke into the morgue.

They found the body. It was missing all of his fingers. The remains were also covered in tattoos. The brothers got arrested for breaking into the morgue, but Reenie came to town. She got them out of jail without charges. She had to still work and so she couldn’t get full picture about what Horizon Group is up to. She also left Colter with a warning before she left.

Reenie told Colter to look into that private security firm. They were probably involved in a whole slew of illegal things. Reenie wasn’t that far off the remark because Russell came to suspect they knew more than they let on. Russell and Doug were in Venezuela. They were ordered to take out a man behind a rebel group.

They did it. They didn’t ask questions why. They just killed a man and Doug was seen at the crime scene. Doug was worried about blowback. He was a great believer in magic and special spells. And he ordered the served finger to be sent to his house as a blessing.

Doug was scared about the Salano family retaliating against him.

Doug and Russell killed Moy Salano. Doug went back to the crime scene because Russell left his knife and he was too far away to retrieve it himself. Russell didn’t think Doug going back would blow back on them.

It turns out that Moy had a brother named Carlos. Carlos was serving time during his brother’s murder and he just got out. He wants revenge. He began looking for his brother’s murderer and he found Doug. Doug’s blessings didn’t work. He hid at a Horizon safehouse and he was found by Carlos Salano’s people. They kidnapped him.

Russell and Colter checked the safehouse. There was a security camera that showed that Doug was kidnapped. They figured that Carlos would want to kill Doug personally. It’s the only reason they haven’t killed him outright.

The Shaw brothers got lucky when Reenie’s FBI contacts gave her property listings held by Carlos’s crew. Colter wanted to bring in the cops by that point. Russell said they couldn’t. He also said he’d understand if Colter wanted to back out and Colter refused to do that. They went to Carlos’s hiding spot. They shot their way to Doug. And they rescued him.

Russell went back to kill Carlos. He parted ways with Colter. Colter left with Doug. Doug was reunited with his wife, but Russell also left Colter his old knife. The one that got them into so much trouble with the Salanos. He asked Colter to keep it for him. He even paid Colter for helping him find Doug.

The brothers left on a better standing than what they had initially.

THE END!
