In tonight’s Tracker episode, Colter Shaw met up with Camille Picket again. No, he still hasn’t found evidence in her sister’s disappearance. He has no idea what happened to Gina. He suspected she was dead and he just couldn’t prove it. Or connect her supposed murder to her jerk ex-boyfriend. It’s been ten years and he still had nothing.
Camille has been waiting on answers that will never come. It’s why she now wants to drop the matter. Camille doesn’t want to keep looking for her sister and she asked Colter to let it go as well. He stopped by every year on the day of Gina’s disappearance. And it wasn’t helping Camille to move on.
Camille wants to drop it. Colter pretended like he’d do the same, but he couldn’t. This case was his white whale. He could solve everything else and he couldn’t with this one.
Colter ended up lying to Camille when he said he’d give up. He was going to keep it looking. Colter was still looking into Gina’s disappearance even as he took on a new case in San Francisco. He was hired by Alicia Jones. Alicia’s brother died in a car accident almost a year ago. He was ruled out as dead and Alicia was moving on until someone claiming to be her brother had contacted their mom.
Their mom is sick. She doesn’t have much time left. Alicia left her alone in a diner for a few minutes when someone who looked like Lucas and acted like Lucas approached the mom.
He told her goodbye. He even gave her the peanut butter cup. The peanut butter cup was a secret thing with their mom. She would always give them that candy whenever they were feeling down. The fact that the man claiming to be Lucas did the same with the mom has led Alicia to believe her brother is still alive.
What Alicia couldn’t understand why he would fake being dead. She hired Colter to find her brother. He quickly found Lucas’s girlfriend. The girlfriend suspected, like Alicia, that Lucas was still alive.
They used to play World of Warcraft together. It was kinda their thing. Then Lucas’s dies in that car crash and suddenly there’s a brand new player that’s really good im the game. He also reached out to his ex to chat during the game. Lucas wasn’t being very good at hiding. His ex still believes he’s alive. His sister and mother now know he’s alive.
Lucas also broke into the electronics repair store where he worked with his ex. He grabbed something from the ceiling. He thought it would be safe because he knew where the hidden cameras were and he never thought anyone else would find them. Lucas didn’t know his sister would hire Colter. Colter found the camera. He now has video proof that Lucas was still alive and once again everyone was trying to figure out why. This was where Bobby’s help came through. Bobby found out that Lucas was in contact with a friend from school by the name of Stephanie Hollis.
Stephanie was murdered during a robbery gone bad. It happened five days before Lucas supposedly died. Lucas also used those five days to scrub everything connected to Stephanie off of his social media and cell phone. Bobby’s theory was that the two must be connected. He didn’t think Lucas killed Stephanie only the timing was suspicious. Colter and Bobby tracked Lucas’s movements on the day he “died”. There had been an Asian man on the scene who seemingly waited there until an accident happened.
Colter found this man. He was Phillip Lee. Colter was unfortunately too late to save him. Someone killed Phillip and Colter heard why when he spoke to Phillip’s widow, Barbie. The couple help people disappear. They faked their deaths and give them new identifications. They carefully vet people before taking their case. They thought that Lucas wouldn’t break and were surprised when he became sloppy. Him reaching out to his loved ones has alerted the people that Lucas was running from.
They tried to torture Phillip to get answers. Only Phillip would never break. He and Barbie grew up in the life. They would never reveal the new identity of a client. Barbie was willing to help Colter with his investigation because she wanted revenge for her husband. She also didn’t know why Lucas was running and so Colter’s friends filled in the holes. They learned that Tim Crosby’s assistant brought in his computer to be fixed. Lucas worked at the repair shop. Neither the assistant or Lucas thought he would find incriminating evidence on the computer.
Crosby was a big real estate guy. He was now running for Mayor. He had a lot to lose and Lucas was going to ruin everything. Lucas reached out to his old friend, Stephanie. She was a political reporter. She was about to break the story when suddenly she gets murdered. Her killer stole her bag and that lead people to believe it was a robbery gone bad. Lucas knew better than to believe that. He scrubbed his social media page so that they wouldn’t connect him to Stephanie and he went on to fake his death so that his family would be safe.
Barbie gave Lucas’s fake ID to Colter. They got in touch with Lucas. They faked his death again because the detective on the case was dirty. Colter suspected she worked for Crosby and he was right. Colter faked the death to get Detective Goodman to go running to Crosby. They were both arrested after they admitted to Colter that killed Phillip as well as Stephanie. And Lucas was allowed to return to his normal life.
But Colter’s new friend Keaton reached out to him about Gina’s case. Keaton abducted a man. This man was the friend of Gina’s ex-boyfriend. Keaton beat him for information. He crossed every line imaginable. He even had Colter shocked and so the one thing keeping Colter in line was the information. Colter found out that Gina’s ex gave her away to a powerful man. And there’s a chance she might still be alive.
