In tonight’s 9-1-1 episode, it was a group of five that went up into space. This included Hen and Athena. Athena was going to shake up her life. She needed a change after she lost her spouse. Hen was going because she initially wanted to bring her own wife with her. It’s been Karen’s dream to go into space for her whole life.

It’s the reason she became a scientist. Karen just couldn’t go on this trip. It was being financed by a billionaire that was currently in litigation with her employer. She had to turn down the trip, but she didn’t need to crap on it to hide her jealousy.

Karen really wanted to go. Everyone knew it. Hen doesn’t mind it because she already jinxed the trip. She was bringing along Athena and Athena can not go places.

She runs into crimes wherever she goes. She nearly dies on vacation countless times. She got drunk with Hen and they joked about it. Hen rewrote her will. Athena said she’d permanently escape from her problems. Her relationship with her kids have been struggling ever since Bobby died. Athena shut herself off rather than deal with the pain.

Now, she was going into space? Her son Harry couldn’t believe it. He was so angry at his mom and not even dropping out of high school was enough to grab her attention. She was running away. Again! Harry and Mae managed to say something nice about her for documentary about the flight.

They watched with everyone at the fire station. The trip was about everyday American heroes. There was an almost astronaut who missed out on space the first time because of Nixon shutting down the program. He was now a high school football coach.

There was a billionaire. His company was worth a lot. Tripp wanted to buy it and so he was noted a hero. Then there was the fifth occupant. Tripp’s fiancé, Tricia. She missed out on the Real Housewives flight. She hadn’t been a wife at the time and so this was Trip making it up to her.

Which was really dumb because Trip risked all of their lives. He knew about a predicted geomagnetic storm. He was told the risk of it was over forty percent. He said he could work with those odds and he went ahead with sending these people into space.

They weren’t up there long before they were forced to brace for impact. The storm hit. It knocked out most of Tripp’s satellites up there. Trip’s people down on the ground lost contact with the Inara. They were worried about the people in space. Just not enough to not try to spin the ongoing crisis. They removed the cameras from documenting the families. They didn’t want the media to get their hands on those that were grieving. They claimed that everything was fine when Karen knew better. She has friends still at the office. They tried to warn her to call off the flight because of the Geostorm.

Karen couldn’t believe that Tripp was so willing to play with Hen’s life like this. Hen and the others were hit by debris that had them spinning out of control until the tech bro literally unplugged them to plug it back in. He didn’t have any controls on the capsule itself. Tripp left the power completely in his own hands. The capsule stopped spinning and then the tech bro suffered a cardiac event. Tricia gave him her watch to monitor his vitals. It wasn’t on the market yet. It helped Hen to restart the guy’s heart.

They were still floating in space. They were actually the lucky ones. Tripp’s six thousand satellites crashed into each other before crashing into the earth. The firefighters got called out to the scene. Harry went with them. He was freaking out at the station waiting for news of his mom. Buck thought him having a ride along would help. Though they didn’t count on debris falling from the sky. They helped a man whose self-driving car had trapped him and then debris fell and hit said victim right in the head.

It was super dangerous outside. Everyone was being advised to stay in doors. Tripp’s tech company was falling apart and he wasn’t thinking of his fiancé at this time. He was thinking of how to hold off the many lawsuits coming his way. Most of the satellites fell into the Atlantic. The were also debris in LA, Idaho, and Indonesia on top of the hospitals had used his tech as well. They were malfunctioning. It accidentally set loose a killer robot off in there. Harry helped save the day. He has the makings of a firefighter if he wants the job.

The city was falling apart. Karen found a way to get into contact with the Inara. She was even willing to work with Trip if it meant saving her wife. She knew about a satellite from the DOD that was up there since the 90s. It was much better made that Tripp’s crap. They got in contact. And they got the Inara working again, but it caused a fire in space.

THE END!
