On tonight’s American Ninja Warrior episode, Ace Goodson was up first for the fourth night of the Qualifiers. He came dressed in a suit. He left having won a place in everyone’s heart. He was a happily married father of two. His son has autism. His daughter wears hearing aides. Much like his wife. His wife lost his hearing due to MS. The kids were in bed during his run, but his wife Chenae was up to watch him. Ace has run twice before. He always gets knocked out on the balance obstacle and he was so proud when he finally passed it tonight. Just to get knocked out by the very next obstacle that proved to be the Spin Cycle. It was still a personal best.

Next up was Joy Wolf. She was on season one of ANW Junior when she was twelve. She didn’t win only she met a lot of great people through the ninja world. She tried out for the adult version the first chance she could. She watched as most of her friends got called to run the course. She wasn’t called until this season. Thanks in part to her friends campaigning for her. They knew how much this means to Joy and they weren’t wrong. She was loving her run tonight. She was known as Ninja Joy for a reason.

Joy made it all the way to the fifth obstacle when she fell. The Battering Ram was known for taking out the elite. Joy losing grip strength on that obstacle meant she was up there with the greats. She could still make it into the next round if she was far enough fast enough. Next up was Jared Greer. He was back after seven years. He was a youth pastor now and he often used ninja to connect with the younger generation. He even started a Christian nonprofit to help kids overcome obstacles by running obstacles.

Jared was also known for being great at basketball. He just didn’t make the shot tonight. His run was what redeemed him. He easily beat some of his old foes like the Log Grip. He also got knocked out by the Battering Ram. He still made it to the fifth obstacle. He has to wait to see if he made it far enough. After Jared, there was Kaden Forsha. He was a rookie. He was the youngest at fifteen. He was known as the Chatterbox Ninja. He doesn’t stop once he gets going. He was bit like that character in “Ant-Man”.

Kaden does a lot of group speaking because he was such a talker. He turned his dyslexia into something special. He never allowed anyone to take away from his happiness. His positive attitude also helped in the ninja world because he became the first finisher of the night. He missed the Warped Wall on the first try. He got it on the second and missed out on the Mega by a few seconds. Kaden also tried to get Matt and Akbar interested in running the course. Only they told him they were too old for that course.

Not that age was a deterrent nowadays. Morgan “Moose” Wright up next. He was last on ANW six years ago and was back now at age fifty. He was a teacher. He was in great shape both then and now. Still, nothing could prepare him for a heart attack three years ago. Moose actually felt something was wrong at the time. He drove himself to the hospital where he was told he was having a heart attack. He showed pictures of back then. It had gotten scary for a bit and he was lucky to be alive now. And that’s why he went back to the ninja world.

Moose made it to Log Grip when he fell, but he remains a fan favorite. Next up was Chase Meade. He was pararescue man from the United States Air Force. They call them PJs. They specialized in combat rescue. They do a little of everything to get the job done and, while he normally dives into the water, he couldn’t do that tonight. The goal was to stay dry. He made it as far as Spin Cycle. It wasn’t too bad for a rookie. Isabella Wakeham was up next. The ninja veteran. She normally runs with her brother.

They often fell on the same obstacle. Well, Isabella has a new training partner. His name is Sam. She met her now fiancé Sam through ANW. They even won the Couple’s Championship and they were putting the championship money towards their wedding. They were having a Ninja wedding. They were going to have it in the barn where Isabella trains with Sam. Their training came in handy tonight because Isabella pulled off a back to back buzzer during Qualifiers. Few women ninjas have done so. Isabella was proud to now be one of them.

Up next was Todd Bourgeois. He was known as the Cajun Cowboy. He hasn’t hit a buzzer in nine years and tonight was supposed to be his major comeback. It just didn’t go as planned. He was in great form. He sped through most of the obstacles. It was the literal dismount off the fifth obstacle that got him. His foot touched the water. It was a graze because he didn’t even feel it or knew he did it until he heard the horn said he messed up. He was so close to the buzzer when that happened. He was still fast and that might guarantee him a spot in the next round.

ANW has welcomed a lot of blasts from the past. Like Idoko Abuh. He went all the way to Stage One on his rookie season and was a four time ninja veteran. He’s been gone for ten years. He retired to focus on school. He’s since graduated. He became an electrical engineer. He got engaged. He was back now and he still got it. He made it all the way to the Battering Ram when he fell. It was so great to see him. He was doing great with timing and he might also get into the next round. And following him was the man with perhaps the longest name of the night.

Enzo DeFerrari Wilson had his run next. Electric Enzo trains with a two-time Ninja champion. Vance Walker was sadly out this season due to injury and he still came out to watch Enzo shine. Enzo was a great ninja in his own right. The four-time veteran was speeding through the course. He became a finisher. He finished with the fastest time so far and he qualified for the Mega Warped Wall. He fell short by a few inches only that’s okay because he guaranteed a spot in the next round. The Rocker was up next.

RJ Roman was known as a speed demon. The Rocker was barely on the course before he was finishing it. He finished with the second fastest time so far. He qualified for the Mega. He sadly did not make it. He stumbled during his run and didn’t want to risk injury. Which was smart because there was still the rest of the season to contend with. Next up was Grace Gordon. She suffers from eczema. It was a skin condition that causes people to itch uncontrollably. The sensitive skin care was created for them and so people please don’t buy it up if your skin can handle just about everything.

Grace joined ninja to gain confidence. She’s since become RJ Roman’s protégé. She made it all the way to the Battering Ram when she fell and is guaranteed a spot in the next round. Next up was Hunter Ogden. The smalltown teenager has had to battle a lot of obstacles. He’s had thirteen surgeries since he was a baby to deal with many complications. One of them being a cleft lip. Hunter has his own ninja gym built out in his backyard and it helped him become a great ninja. The rookie became one of the few finishers of the night.

Maybe that makeshift ninja gym was all he needed. Next up was Steven Bachta. The pediatrician helps kids everyday at work. They were what inspired him to do ANW. It didn’t matter that he was one of the older athletes tonight. He still managed to become another finisher. There were even more finishers during the commercial break. This included Caleb Bergstrom. Up next was Nacssa Garemore. He flipped his way into his run tonight. At just seventeen, he easily became one of the elite ninjas. He also got to do it alongside his brother.

Nacssa was another speed demon. He easily finished with the fastest time so far. The Garemores were one of the great ninja families and one day he might be running the course with his own kids as well, but what really cemented the night for Nacssa was when he tackled the Mega Warped Wall. He won ten thousand dollars. He also was the first one to get up that Mega Warped Wall all season. The night alone was great for him. After Nacssa, it was Barclay Stockett’s turn to return to the course. She lost her mom to cancer. She dealt with health issues. And now she was smiling again,

Barclay was known as the Sparkly Ninja for her cheerful disposition. She was smiling more so now that she married her best friend and love of her life, Tee. She still took her time on the course. She was slower than the other women so far and that meant she had to do something special. She had to hit the buzzer. What was so special about a buzzer some might ask? Barclay has never hit one during Qualifiers. The fifth obstacle has always been her downfall and it remained so tonight when she fell on the Battering Ram.

And last one up tonight was Isiah “Flyboy” Thomas. He recently moved from Dallas to NYC. He left his family and went out on his own. It’s been an adjustment. It was also a part of growing up. He was known as flyboy because he flies through the course. He’s the one that finished with the fastest time of the night. He also became the second person this season to win ten grand thanks to conquering the Mega Warped Wall. He hugged his mother before and afterwards because he still misses mom. And it seems she’s his lucky charm.

THE END!
