Beyond the Gates spoilers reveal that while the soap has been pre-empted for Tuesday, April 29 and Wednesday, April 30 due to CBS’s UEFA sports coverage, it looks like the Thursday, May 1 episode will bring on the drama!
From the sounds of it, Dana “Leslie” Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) will spill her affair with Ted Richardson (Maurice Johnson) at his and Nicole Richardson’s (Daphnée Duplaix) anniversary party, so fans need to brace themselves for next-level chaos.
A recent preview that was released shows the proverbial poop hitting the fan as Leslie exposes Ted’s lies, and the Dupree family reacts over the news.
Nicole will also be completely crushed, as her ‘perfect’ life flips upside down.
With that said, what happens in the aftermath of all this? Nicole will likely leave Ted, but could she gravitate toward an old friend who might be able to sympathize with her situation?
Doug McBride (Jason Graham) is hiding a gambling addiction from his wife, Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli). While Doug has lied a lot to his wife, she hasn’t exactly been an angel.
In fact, Vanessa has a number of men on her ‘roster’ that she turns to when she needs attention in the bedroom.
That also doesn’t make Doug’s lies any better, but at the very least, he has acknowledged his addiction and is trying to get help.
It’s interesting because once Doug realized he had a problem that needed to be fixed, he turned to Nicole.
She’s a therapist, after all, but she’s also someone he knows he can trust and someone who won’t judge him.
The messy aspect of this is that Nicole and Vanessa are besties.
To add to the stickiness of the situation, Vanessa has engaged in an emotional affair with casino owner, Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom), who has helped Doug with his debts in the past, but fans know that he has an ulterior motive.
Could Vanessa and Joey hop into bed in the days or weeks ahead? Could Doug find the two, or at least find out about the “feelings” Vanessa has for Joey?
This may give him and Nicole something to lament over. As the old adage goes, misery loves company, and in the land of soaps, two cheating spouses could help bond the two other partners who were hurt in a situation.
Beyond the Gates spoilers suggest there weren’t any sparks during their ‘therapy’ session last week when Doug turned to Nicole, but that doesn’t mean the “friends” may not share chemistry between the sheets.
Could the show decide to pair Nicole and Doug up after her romance with Ted is blown out of the water?
