Off the cusp of her “run in” with ‘Sherry’ a.k.a. Dana “Leslie” Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) during the Wednesday, April 23 episode, it sounds like Nicole will be determined to figure out why her injured assistant, Laura Peterson (Destiny Love) is having such a hard time recovering.
Of course, fans know why!
Not only did Leslie run poor Laura off the road to cause her hospital stint, but once the girl was almost ready to be discharged, the vile woman donned a fake nurse’s costume, sneaked into Laura’s room, and injected her IV bag with a substance that would cause her an infection.
As Leslie’s daughter, Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle), is now Nicole’s temporary assistant, Leslie needs Laura to stay put in the hospital until her plan to spill the beans about Ted Richardson (Maurice Johnson) and their affair comes to fruition.
Leslie couldn’t chance Laura returning as the family’s assistant, and Eva getting let go, so she took matters into her own hands.
Still, Nicole is a therapist, not a doctor, so can she put two-and-two together to figure out that Laura’s meds were tampered with? Only time will tell.
Across town, BTG spoilers suggest that Doug McBride (Jason Graham) will work hard to fight off those gambling demons, but will he be successful?
After all, he scored a $50,000 winning scratch ticket during the April 23 episode, and rather than pay Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) off, he gambled it all away on a horse race and lost the money!
Doug clearly needs help, but will he build the courage to tell his wife and go the counseling for his gambling addiction?
Speaking of Vanessa, demons, and Joey, for that matter, it looks like Doug’s wife will make a terrible deal with the casino owner.
While Joey laid out a trap for Doug, the real reason he was targeting the surgeon was to get closer to Vanessa.
Viewers recently learned that Joey wanted to get to Vanessa through Doug so he could use her real estate firm to launder money.
Beyond the Gates spoilers reveal that Joey won’t need Doug to secure this deal, after all, as he’ll likely convince Vanessa, through some smiles and charm, himself.
