In tonight’s FBI episode, Jubal met up with one of his criminal informants. These sort of meetings usually work best if everyone remains consistent. Jubal wears his old wedding ring for these meetings because he never told his CI he got divorced or that he shares custody with his ex.
Only there were more pressing things to worry about tonight. His CI never showed. His CI’s real name is Faheem Ellahie. He’s never missed a meeting before. Jubal got worried about him when he didn’t show. He had his people track him. They learned that Faheem got grabbed by someone that morning. He was thrown into the back of a car and no one has heard from him since.
People were already trying to find the money he had stashed all around the city. He laundry drug money for dangerous people. The only way anyone would move against him was if they were sure that sure that Faheem was gone.
Jubal was trying to find whoever grabbed Faheem and he was left surprised when Faheem suddenly showed up at his house. Faheem apparently had some big news. He had to get out of the city before he could Jubal what exactly he found. Jubal’s ex called him and he went straight home.
Jubal checked Faheem for weapons within seconds of getting inside. Faheem was clean. He had nothing on him. He wasn’t a physical threat to Jubal’s family. Though going to Jubal’s home was something that couldn’t be repeated.
It crossed a line. It endangered Jubal’s family. Jubal told him right off to never do that again. He also promised his ex that that no one else was coming to their home. He’d deal with Faheem. He later put Faheem in an interrogation room. Faheem was still claiming he has this important news.
Faheem said that there was an imminent terrorist attack in the States. He was coming to Jubal because he wanted to stop this attack and he was willing to give Jubal everything he knows in return for something.
Faheem wanted his half-brother to be released from prison. His brother Daanish sold a felony weight of drugs to an undercover cop. He got put in prison. He wasn’t getting out anytime soon and that could be a problem because he was about to get transferred. The feds wanted to move him to a prison upstate.
It would be away from his friends. His allies. His family. Him going to a different prison might put him on the lower end of the totem pole and that wasn’t a safe place to be in prison.
The fact that Faheem has this big important information right as his brother was about to be transferred was a little too coincidental. Some felt he was faking this important information to save his brother. Faheem’s one request was for his brother to released from prison, but Jubal doesn’t think Faheem would risk that by giving them bad intel.
Jubal suspected that Faheem does know something. He’s just not sure if Faheem exaggerated the situation. The FBI did their due diligence after they heard about Faheem getting grabbed and they found footage of the incident.
Faheem was thrown into the back of a car by men in hoods. There’s no telling how he escaped them or if they were his men helping him sell a lie. The FBI kept looking into Faheem. They found out his kidnappers went to the home of Tucker Kincaid. By time the feds tracked down this man, he was already dead.
His killers also planted IEDs around the body to kill whoever found him first. It seems that the danger in this case was real. Jubal went back to Faheem after they found the body and Faheem said the information he has was on this little usb drive.
Jubal took the device from him. He had his people open it up and that’s when they learned what it really was. There was no imminent attack. The device that Faheem gave Jubal granted some dangerous people access to the FBI’s servers. It was a cyber attack all along.
Faheem was grabbed that morning by dangerous people. They knew he was a criminal informant. They demanded that he help them gain access to the FBI’s servers or they were going to kill his brother during his transfer. It’s why Faheem begged Jubal to get his brother released. He wanted to save him without betraying Jubal.
Then time was catching up with them and so Faheem did what these people wanted in the hope they didn’t hurt his brother. He’s betrayed. Jubal He’s lied to Jubal. And ultimately Jubal still tried to help him.
Jubal protected Daanish during his transfer. Jubal owed Faheem that. Jubal and Faheem have been working together for close to twenty years. Faheem knew him back when he wasn’t sober.
They worked together on cases that weren’t entirely legal. At one point Jubal had them cut the camera in the interrogation room. Isobel did so because she’s trusts him. The only people that knows what happened next were Jubal and Faheem. The next thing anyone knows its Jubal that suggested they offer support during Daanish’s transfer.
Jubal knew that these dangerous people wouldn’t keep their promises. They would still try to kill Daanish. They might also work their way back around to Faheem and finish him off as well. Jubal being there for Daanish helped the man survive. They did try to kill him. The FBI saved Daanish’s life because one of the US Marshalls was dirty. He shot Daanish in cold blood. Jubal killed the guy. and the rest of his team killed the others. Daanish was taken to a hospital. He was going to be alright.
It turns out these people were sovereign citizens. They all had matching tattoos. They all believed that big government was evil and that they needed to big brother the government.
All in all five people died that day, but Jubal kept his promise to Faheem. They also could no longer work together anymore. Faheem got a new FBI handler. Jubal also returned home to have a conversation with his ex-wife about Faheem coming to their home.
THE END!
