In tonight’s Fire Country episode, someone intentionally set fire that destroyed the lives of many in Edgewater. The fire was what killed Vince Leone. It’s what put people out on the street when they lost their homes. It nearly destroyed the town and now Sharon learns it wasn’t an accident at all. There was an ATF investigation.
The feds determined that the fire was intentional. Sharon was then left with the hard task of how to break the news to her son. She tried. She tried several times and she just couldn’t do it. She didn’t want to ruin the happy mood.
Manny was named the new Battalion Chief of 42. He was going to be great at the job. He was a natural leader. He was there for everyone. He even knew about the ATF investigation and was supportive of Sharon.
He told her that the secret was bound to get out. It would be best if Bode learns of it from his mother rather than from someone else, but that was Manny for you. He was always thinking of others. His first day he had to deal with chickens. Eve’s dad had taken a lot of animals after the Zabel Ridge Fire. He needed a place to store chickens. Eve nominated their firehouse.
Manny allowed it because he thought the chickens were adorable. Manny also allowed the firefighters to change the coffee they drink because they wanted to try something new. Sharon wasn’t as appreciative.
She thought the coffee brand labelled Leone Mud was an institution. Its been there for generations. She also hated passing Vince’s torch to anyone not him. Even if it was Manny. Bode was taking it better than she was. Sharon insisted on accompanying them on their first call. She wanted to her own path there.
Sharon also wanted to run the scene. She was running roughshod over Manny. Jake saw it and he told Eve he’s glad he wasn’t Battalion Chief because at least he doesn’t have to deal with that.
Sharon kept wanting to run things the way Vince would’ve. She was putting him on a pedestal after death. Vince was not perfect. Just ask Bode. Bode was shown the note indicating his father was being blackmailed. You can’t be blackmailed over nothing? Vince had to have done something wrong and someone was extracting money from him over it.
Eve and Jake both thought maybe Vince was cheating on Sharon. Bode refused to go there. He remembered his parents. He watched them his whole life. He knew his father worshipped his mother.
What he didn’t know was that Vince did cheat on Sharon. He claimed it was just a kiss with some woman he met at a bar. It happened after Riley died and he immediately told Sharon about it. She forgave him because they lost two children that night. Riley died. Bode left town. They were left in an empty house and Sharon believes they came out stronger for it.
Now, the younger generation didn’t know about this alleged kiss. Bode just found the letter and he freaked. He wanted to protect his mom. He found out his father owned a PO Box he never told anyone about.
Sharon in town was keeping her own secrets. Their friends finally decided to just tell them what they needed to hear. Not what they wanted to hear. They both had to come clean with each other. It came out when they were battling the fire at the drive-in movie theater. Sharon was pushing Manny with her own decisions that she forced him to make a call of his own.
It saved lives that day. Sharon also wasn’t entirely wrong. The fire was spreading and it would have spread to the trees if they hadn’t relied on each other. That meant all of them. Bode and Jake relying on each other.
Sharon trusting Manny. Manny even taking advice. They all worked together and they stopped the fire from spreading. Everything that burned down or was pulled down can easily be replaced. Eve also figured out how to make Three Rock self-sustaining. She was going to turn into a farm. The profit from it would go back towards making Three Rock stronger.
Eve already got the city council to take the land where Three Rock was off the market. She got someone to donate the lumber to rebuild. She was going to get Three Rock up and running before long. Meanwhile both Bode and Sharon came clean after dinner. Bode wants to help the ATF with the investigation.
Sharon also knew who sent the threatening note to Vince. It wasn’t some other woman that Vince was sleeping with. It was Sharon’s own mother. She was the “R”. Sharon’s mom was no picnic and her stepfather got arrested for illegally growing weed.
Wes was doing it legitimately now. He even helps out with his grand kids, but Sharon’s mother never learned her lesson. It’s amazing that she and Mickey turned into such great people when they came from that house.
THE END!
