General Hospital Friday, January 17 Recap: Drew Has Tracy Arrested, Willow Approves Waking Up Michael

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, January 17, reveals that Ava Jerome (Maura West) threatened to find another lawyer who could help her if Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) wouldn’t. However, Ric didn’t think Ava had enough to petition for immediate Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) custody despite all the explosion drama.

Besides, Ava had to be smart about her plays in this expensive custody feud – especially when she hadn’t even paid Ric yet.

Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) eventually showed up looking for some art for his new home on Spoon Island, so Ava realized he was now Wyndemere’s owner.

Ava shared the news that she used to live there and explained her split from her ex-husband.

Sidwell flirted with Ava a bit, bought some art and invited her to help him place it at Wyndemere, so Ava happily agreed.

Once Sidwell paid and left, Ric snatched the check out of Ava’s hands to cover his first payment.

At GH, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) was ready to do what was best for Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), so she allowed Sonny and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) to have access to him.

When Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) popped up to discuss Michael’s next steps, Willow insisted on including Carly and Sonny.

Portia noted that a bed had opened up in the burn unit at Johns Hopkins, but Carly said Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) could get Michael into a clinic in Germany that could offer a full recovery.

Carly pointed to Ava Jerome (Maura West) as proof of how well this cutting-edge treatment could work, but Sonny wasn’t sure about this.

Willow also had reservations since Portia didn’t know anything about this treatment and couldn’t make a recommendation for it as a result.

It was decided that Michael needed to choose for himself, so Willow gave her approval for him to be woken up.

Carly was by Michael’s side as he regained consciousness and groaned in pain.

After Carly tried to give Michael some reassurance, she revealed that he needed to make a choice.

At Deception, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) showed up hoping for a job interview and caught Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) off guard.

That led to more of Brook Lynn and Lulu’s usual clashing until Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) arrived.

Brook Lynn took off, so that gave Maxie a chance to play up her friendship with BLQ since she’d been there for her during a difficult time.

Lulu took Maxie’s word for it and pitched her desire to work at Deception, but Maxie wondered if she could really handle being Brook Lynn’s assistant.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) hinted that Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) could face criminal charges over this situation with Willow’s kids, but Tracy pushed him to butt out.

Brook Lynn got involved later and suggested that if they actually talked to Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson), she would agree the children should be with their mother.

At the Port Charles Grill, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) broke up a tense interaction between Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) and Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) before it turned into a full-fledged fight.

After Cody took off, Jordan pushed Drew to focus on making amends with the people he’d wronged.

Otherwise, Jordan made a prediction that Drew would have no one left.

Back with Cody, he met up with Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) at the hospital and gave him a check to pass along to Selina Wu (Lydia Look).

Cody was five grand short, so Brad complained before suggesting he’d help deal with Selina until Cody could pay the rest.

Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) caught part of this conversation, so Brad explained that he helped a very persistent Cody place his bet with Selina.

Although Lucas didn’t think Brad owed him any explanations, Brad still wanted to clear things up.

As for Drew, he got Martin Grey’s (Michael E. Knight) help and showed up at the Quartermaine mansion with a new court order to get Willow’s kids.

A couple cops came along, but Tracy claimed the children weren’t there and that she didn’t have the foggiest idea where they were.

Chase acted like there was no need for handcuffs, but one of the officers went along with Congressman Quartermaine’s wishes and used them on Tracy.

Tracy tried to swat the cop away, so Drew suggested that counted as resisting arrest. As Tracy was taken into police custody, she warned that Drew would regret this.

General Hospital spoilers say Tracy could indeed go after revenge on Drew, so stay tuned for updates on any retaliation plots!
