In tonight’s Grey’s episode, Anatomy Simone really messed up. Luckily, she realized that for herself. She didn’t just say horrible things to Lucas. They broke up and she literally slept with someone else hours later. Blue found out about it. Simone’s hookup started at the bar but ended up at the house.

The house she shares with Blue. He saw the guy leave and he made smart remark about her wanting to end her first year on a bang. Simone couldn’t even be upset with him for what he said because she was still nauseous. She drank a lot that night before. She was getting drunk at the bar when she ran into the mystery man.

Lucas didn’t know about the mystery man. He only knew about the breakup. It tore him up inside. He tried to hide it in front of others. His acting didn’t work with his aunt.

Amelia knew that Lucas was upset and she wanted to fix it. She wanted to help him. Only work came first. She still has a patient that has locked in syndrome. Dylan had surgery on her brain. It looked like a success in the beginning and then the miracle stopped. Dylan couldn’t move. She could blink until she eventually lost the ability to do even that too.

They had to tape her eyes shut to prevent infection. They tried waiting to see if things would work on it’s own. There was no sign of improvement and so that’s when her mother got desperate.

Dylan was her parents’ only child. She was brave in things they weren’t. There was a lesser riskier surgery that the parents passed on because they didn’t want their child to lose doing what she loves and now they were watching her die slowly. Jenna was desperate. And so she cornered Amelia with a special gas tank that she knew could take down the whole building.

Jenna’s husband worked in construction. She knew exactly what that gas tank was capable of. She came with an electrical flint and that tank. She said she would kill everyone if Amelia didn’t operate on Dylan again. Jenna thought another surgery could miraculously fix her daughter. Only medicine doesn’t work that way.

She was also tying Amelia’s hands behind her back with the surgery. Amelia didn’t have neurological imaging or monitoring. She also didn’t have a full suite of surgical team to help. Amelia was gearing up for a different surgery and was talking to Simone when Jenna came in with that tank.

Amelia was asking Simone what happened that left Lucas upset. She never got the answer. She also was forced to call for Lucas to bring Dylan to the OR. Once Lucas was inside, Jenna wouldn’t allow him to leave. He was forced to assist Amelia. Jenna was threatening to kill everyone in the room and Lucas couldn’t lose his aunt or the woman he was still in love with. He assisted Amelia. He saw Monica at the cleansing station. He warned with his eyes. It was Monica that alerted the hospital to a hostage situation.

They had to start clearing the building floor by floor. Several other surgeries were happening. Teddy and Winston were working on Nora. They came up with a new surgery on spot.

Teddy technically shouldn’t be working on the woman that slept with her husband. Especially now that she knows how much Nora means to Owen. Owen told his wife that it was one off. It convinced him that he didn’t want to be with anyone else besides Teddy and then Teddy saw them together. Owen held Nora in what they thought were her final hours.

Owen didn’t just consider Nora a friend. He had feelings for her. Feelings he lied about to his wife. Teddy was still angry with him when she went ahead with the surgery and their OR was next door to Amelia’s.

They were paged to leave. Owen even came into the OR to tell them to patch Nora up because they all had to leave. He warned them that there was a bomb next door. He wanted them to be safe and Teddy refused to leave. She wanted to finish the surgery. Winston told everyone else that they were free to leave and no one left.

Winston said that out loud because he was worried about the interns. One intern specifically. He developed feelings for Jules and that’s why he was doing his best to push her away. Jules didn’t know about the feelings.

She did know that Winston distanced himself. She quickly saw the good side of that because it allowed her to explore her surgical options. She also embarrassed herself in front of Winston because she didn’t check a room before entering. She spilled coffee on herself and she just left herself into a room to change out of her top.

Winston saw her in her bra. It was really awkward. It also reminded Winston that things were inappropriate with Jules. After they learned about the bomb next door, he ordered her out of the OR.

Teddy then ordered out Blue. They said they were the attendees and that it was their job to keep the interns safe. They left. Teddy then fell apart. She didn’t think her surgery was such a great idea now. Owen thought the same. He told her that she came up with it while drinking at a wedding and wrote it out on a cocktail napkin. His doubts bled into Teddy doubting herself.

Winston had to remind her that they’ve come too far to go back now. They continued with the surgery. Next door, Jenna was devolving. The surgery wasn’t going like she planned.

Dylan’s brain began to bleed and Jenna accused them of trying to kill her daughter. She said that Dylan would have been fine with Amelia never operated on her to begin with. She was getting out of control and she had a strong grip on Simone. Lucas grabbed a scalpel. He almost took out Jenna when Merredith showed up.

They got back Dylan’s test results. Her blood wasn’t clotting like it should. Meredith knew how to treat it and she came barging in with plasma. She explained how it would help Dylan. She also said she was a mother too.

Jenna trusted her enough to agree to the plasma. The bleeding stopped. Jenna happily gave herself up once the surgery was over. The police moved in soon after that to arrest her for what she did. Teddy’s plan also worked. She saved Nora’s life. It put her in a good mood. And maybe she’d change her mind about firing Ben.

Teddy didn’t want to continue his residency. She told Bailey who told Ben. Ben said that his last day would still give him a chance to help save lives and he was free to take risks. He had patient that needed surgery.

He operated on him in the ICU. Bailey was so mad at him when she found him in the middle of the procedure. She also saw things he didn’t. She agreed to help him and they kept their patient alive. Later, Lucas and Simone made up. They were so happy to be alive that they forgave each other for their fight.

Simone never got a chance to tell him about her one night stand. She chose to bury it. She can only hope that Blue does the same. Jules was meanwhile congratulating Winston on the miracle he pulled off.

She also asked why she was removed from his service. He told her that the lines were getting blurred between them. She said it wasn’t for her. Nor was that a reason to refuse to teach her. Jules stayed on to help Monica in surgery with a different patient.

Did you also know that Meredith originally came back to Seattle to sell her shares in the hospital? She apparently needed the money to fund her private research in finding a cure for Alzheimer’s.

The weird day just reminded her that she misses being a surgeon. She lives in Boston. Only she can come back each summer to work in General Surgery. She doesn’t want to be Chief again. She also wasn’t wanting to cute ties with Seattle. Seattle was home. They still had family there.

Owen finally confessed to Teddy that he does have feelings for Nora. He then added that he loves her. He loved their family and Teddy honestly told him that she was going to choose herself from now on.

She’s been choosing Owen for twenty years. He always let her down. He always took her for granted. And now she was going to finally choose herself.

Which could mean anything.

Simone’s one night stand was happened to be one the new first year residents. He will soon work at the same hospital as her and Lucas. And Jenna lied when she said the tank was empty. It wasn’t. She opened the valve and the room later blew up because of her. There’s no telling who was affected.

THE END!
