In tonight’s Grey’s Anatomy episode, Amelia was taking a sabbatical. She needed to be where her people are. She was going to go traveling for a bit. It’s her way of healing after Monica’s death.
Jules chose humor to help herself. She found it especially funny that Simone slept with an intern. It was even funnier because Simone wants to go on a sex cleanse for the next year to make up for what she did. She fears Luke wouldn’t forgive her. She also wanted to stop the intern from flirting with her. It was super awkward at the hospital.
It got worse for Lucas. Lucas has Wes Bryant on his service tonight. Wes was constantly underfoot and Lucas didn’t feel like teaching him anything. He tried to pawn him off on Bailey.
Bailey made them work together. She reminded Lucas that he needed to start teaching the younger generation. They had to give a woman a Cat Scan. She was a therapist so she wasn’t used to silence. She asked them to start talking and they told her they weren’t talking mood. Once Lucas starts going, he’s going to say things he can’t take back and he still has to work with the man.
Blue found himself in a similar situation. He was riding in Plastics. He mistook the Plastics Fellow as a new intern and it got them off on the wrong foot. Her name is Kavita.
She looks quite young. Even their patient thought she was the intern and Blue was the doctor. The other interns from his class were sitting on once of a kind surgery. It’s a living donor lung transplant. Two dads are donating parts of their liver to their son. They didn’t care about the risks. They didn’t care that most surgeons refused to do the procedures.
They wanted to save their son. Nick was their surgeon. He’ll be receiving an assist from Winston. Winston was worried about all the risks and Nick told him that they’ve run out of time. Get on board!
Winston was going ahead with the surgery but that’s because he spoke with Jules. She understood him. Jules said he wasn’t a good surgeon. Most surgeons have a God complex that pushed them to constantly achieve. Winston was merely a doctor that wants the best for his patients. If he sees a wall, he’ll find a way around it. He was exactly what the family needs.
Both Lucas and Wes wanted to be in on that surgery. They found themselves instead helping a cancer patient. She has Stage 2 gastric cancer. She was on the way to the hospital when her rideshare got hit by a car.
What that woman didn’t need was two doctors constantly fighting around her. She needed peace. She needed reassurance. Wes also wasn’t going to just accept Lucas’s bullying. He wants to pursue a career in medicine. He wasn’t going to let anyone derail his career. Blue was thinking the same when he made a critical error.
He gave the patient a snack. He wasn’t supposed to eat. It didn’t matter that it was hours after surgery. Kavita put in the order for a reason and Blue should have asked her before getting him crackers. Now, Blue has an enemy that could ruin his love for plastic surgery. Bailey nearly removed Lucas from the room again.
He hasn’t learned anything from the first time around. He was letting his anger rule him and bringing that with him into the OR. He needed to talk to someone. If it couldn’t be Simone, it should be a professional.
Wasn’t he diagnosed with ADHD? Whoever prescribed his meds can also assist him with his anger. Bailey told him that she couldn’t have his anger issues messing with the patients, the interns, or any of the surgeries. Lucas didn’t really hear her whole speech because he noticed tumors on their patient’s liver. The cancer spread. The lung transplant being successful was a bit of good news. They couldn’t use one of the fathers because he was spiking a fear. They instead the one lob to create two lungs for the little boy. His lungs were smaller than an adult anyways.
Lucas was able to be there for Katie. She was the patient that might be terminal. It’s not over while she’s still breathing and that meant there were options. Lucas also put his fight with Wes aside. He finally started to teach him. He even reassured him. Lucas remembered he’s a doctor whether he’s with Simone or not.
And Teddy helped Jo buy a family car. Then she got into a vehicle with Cass. Yes, the Cass she almost slept with before and one she plans on sleeping with now that they she’s divorcing Owen. They called it. They were getting a divorce because they were better off as friends. He moved back into the airstream. She was thinking of selling the house.
THE END!
