In tonight’s Match Me Abroad episode, Victoria was hating her date with the bad boy. He wasn’t a bad person. He just did really stupid things. Like putting tabasco in his eye. He nearly blinded himself on the first date and there wasn’t going to be a second.
Victoria only continued with the first one after the hot sauce incident because she was worried about awkwardness. She hates awkwardness. She also still wanted to put her faith in the matchmaker. She didn’t know she’d be set up deliberately on a bad date until after parted ways with hot sauce guy.
There’s a method in the madness. It just takes a moment to realize. Sarah was another new face this season. She was a business owner living in Texas.
She has a jewelry and accessories shop online. She’s always been interested in crafts. Also, in glam. She was looking for love in Singapore because she loves the men there. She loved the women they treat women. She fell in love with Nick Young from Crazy Rich Asians and now wants a man just like him. Sarah wasn’t like Victoria. She hasn’t been on tons of first dates.
She was in a committed relationship for a while. They got engaged. They were about to get married when her fiancé told her that he didn’t want kids and that was a dealbreaker for her. Sarah was close to her own mom. She couldn’t wait to become a mom herself. She called it off with the ex and now she was looking for a successful family-orientated man.
She even brought along her mom to help. Her dad passed away not that long ago. She was close to him. It hurts that he will never meet her children or her future husband. And that’s why her mom being there was so important.
Her mom’s approval will mean a lot. Only there was one issue. Sarah looked glamorous. She just looked too glamorous. The men over there was used to a more natural looking woman.
The ones that were looking for her type were looking for sugar babies. They were in it only for looks. Sarah was going to want to grow old with the man of her dream and not be replaced in twenty years when the fillers start wearing off. This created a problem for the matchmaker. She was wondering how to tell Sarah to go without makeup.
Monica meanwhile went on a great date with someone. Until they brought up kids. She didn’t want more kids and he hasn’t started having kids yet. He always wanted them. It’s been his plan. It doesn’t seem to be his dream. Who knows? Monica and Bernardo had a great date. They shared a kiss at the end that was perfect. She didn’t know if she was falling in love or having a moment. The one thing she did know was that the matchmaker had been right when she told her to date around a bit and see what she’s really looking for. And not want she thinks she should look for.
Even Victoria’s matchmaker helped her make up her mind. She decided she wasn’t interested in having kids. She has a family history of addiction that she doesn’t want to continue or pass on. Kids are a big issue. She went to Ireland. She now has to find a man that doesn’t want to have the big family. Amber was also in Ireland. They shared the same matchmaker. She went on another first date and that time was with Paul. Paul was different to Keevan. Sure, Keevan came fitted out for the date.
Paul had the date at his house. He built the house by himself. He lived on his own property. He was very country. He came in wear crocks and a shirt with his own name on it. He didn’t have much electrics. He had a compost toilet to help with the garden. He then served her tea from that same garden. Amber knew he wasn’t the one when she was given poo tea. Her date with the country boy made her like Keevan a little better. It also helped her realize that she was a city girl. She likes trips to the country. She simply couldn’t live in the country. Paul’s house scared her too much.
The same goes for Paul’s shed that looked like a serial killer’s dream.
Monica did find herself in some trouble with her matchmaker later on. The great kiss was considered a negative by the matchmaker. She didn’t want them to get hung up on chemistry that they forget everything else. Its why her philosophy is that they should wait to kiss. Don’t kiss right away or that clouds things. Monica came to Brazil thinking about Bruno. She should at least go on one date with him and others just to make sure she’s going to end up with a man can love at the end.
And like expected, Sarah did not want to be asked if she could unglam for a date.
THE END!
