Doc Roy knew something was wrong when Blue never got back about the test results. He knew it was odd for her to quit out of nowhere. Yet, she had asked him to look into something for her. Doc never got a chance to find out what it was. Doc was worried when she didn’t get back to him and so he broke into her apartment.
Or flat as the Aussies say. It was empty. Blue left her makeup behind. She left a suitcase behind. She has tons of mail that’s been piling up. Doc’s welfare check attracted the eyes of the local cops. They didn’t appreciate him breaking in with a crowbar. JD was talking them down while the rest of their friends looked through Blue’s belongings.
They all wanted to know what happened to their friend. They just weren’t expecting the actual answer to be as bad as it turned out to be. Doc was the only one that knew Bluebird wasn’t Blue’s actual name. He knew her birthday was fake as well. The one thing Blue didn’t lie about was that she has a brother she hasn’t seen in a long time.
Her brother’s name is Eli. He wasn’t just a brother. He was a twin. The clue was on Blue’s bathroom ceiling. She has the constellations for the Gemini twins. Evie recognized it because she was a Gemini. She also knew that it was upside down because that wasn’t the proper constellation.
Blue had been hiding something in the ceiling. It was bones. It was the bones of more than one person. Which would look bad for Blue that she had them hidden in her apartment. NCIS was only supposed to investigate Navy personnel related crimes.
They couldn’t touch local crimes and so Mackey came up with an idea. She had them find the bones mysteriously a day later in the hopes of keeping this in house. They even had the new guy working with them. They identified the bones as Robert Mullens. His mother has been looking for him for over twenty years.
There was a second match. Robert Mullen was the father of a Jane Doe. She never gave a real name. She was arrested for trying to borrow a “bone density scanners”.
Her record was sealed by Children’s Court, but everyone recognized the girl from the mugshot. It was Blue. Blue needed that bone density scanner to identify the remains as her father. She also stole books from the library. She’s been trying to fill the gaps in her education to get justice for her dad and that’s what she asked for Doc Roy’s help with.
Blue never would have walked away without identifying the bones first. The team didn’t know much about who Blue was under all the lies. They just knew that she would try to do the right thing. No matter what. Doc held onto that and he wasn’t wrong. They identified Robert Mullens. His mother told them all about her son. He was a modern day hippie or he was. He and his girlfriend were like chalk and cheese. He wanted to get in touch with nature. His girlfriend Heather was a woman of science. She was much like her daughter, Blue.
Robert’s mother was so glad to hear that she has grandchildren. She never gave up hope on finding out what happened to her son. She asked to stay involve if they found Blue and/or her brother. Mackey promised to reunite them. The team found out someone was still withdrawing Robert’s pension money long after his death. The same for his girlfriend. They were withdrawing it from an ATM in Bilpin. The soil on Robert’s bones were also from the Bilpin area. The team naturally traveled to Bilpin.
It wasn’t long they made the connection from the ATM withdrawals to the Bilpin Collective. They were a commune. It was a group of people that all bought up lots of land in Bilpin. It was now four hundred and fifty acres. It was prime real estate. It was also a place where people go and never leave. Not even when they want to. It started out with the best of intentions. It’s now become a death cult. The leader created a story after Blue ran away. Blue’s real name is Faith. She never had a last name because no one keeps records of it.
The name Bluebird Gleeson was a name she created when she left juvie. Her record was sealed when she became an adult. She created a fake history to go with the fake name and she joined AFP. Her team was keeping that to themselves for now. They wouldn’t tell the new guy either. They just used his skillset as well as his connections to find out where Blue was being held. Blue was forced back to the compound because the cult has become a death cult in the time she’s been away. The leader created this story about how the Gemini twins being reunited will pave their way to “accension”.
There was no accension. It was pure mass suicide. The leader used Blue’s return to kick it off. Blue wasn’t there long before she realized that this supposed leader wanted everyone else dead and for herself to be the last one standing. That way she could sell the land the collective was on for fifty million dollars. It’s been a cult for so long that no one questioned when she came up with this prophecy in less than eight years. Or that it was completely reliant on Blue’s return only once she ran away. Mother Hubbard was making it all up and Blue’s brother fell for it.
Eli moved up the timetable for the “accension” once he noticed NCIS was sniffing around. Thankfully, the team quickly caught onto the death cult angle. They came storming in before anyone drank the tea and it was Eli who just couldn’t let go. He still drank the tea. Doc Roy ended up coming with. He administered first aide. He saved Eli’s life. The poisoner was arrested along with her armed guards that tried to stop NCIS. And Blue finally got to meet her grandmother.
They were both nervous, but Doc was there to help them get through it and the team was left with the conundrum of if they should report Blue for lying her way into the police academy.
THE END!
