In tonight’s S.W.A.T. episode, Miko’s mother doesn’t always learn. She got back in contact her ex. The guy that used to beat her up. Collins was a threat and so Miko’s mother never was strong enough to stand up to that man. It usually took others to do the work for her. Miko now has to do it. Collins called his mom after twenty years saying things were different now.
He got sober. He wants to make amends as part of the program and Miko knew not to fall for it. His mother wasn’t smart enough to see through it. She let Collins back into her life. And Miko got a call on tonight’s episode about his mom having a black eye.
Miko went rushing over. He had to. It was his mom. He felt guilty that he didn’t protect her when Collins first started beating on her twenty years ago, but she wasn’t looking to be rescued then or now.
She claimed she got hit in the face by a door. It was the same lame excuse she used to tell him all throughout his childhood. She said that Collins didn’t mean to hurt her. Collins was just upset. He thought Miko got him fired from his job. Someone had apparently called Collins’s work to tell them that he has a record. Collins assumed it had been Miko and that’s why he hit the mother.
Collins couldn’t bully around Miko anymore. Miko was an adult now. Miko was also a cop. Collins went after the easy target because that’s his MO and somehow he even convinced Miko’s own mother that it was Miko’s fault. Not Collins. The one that hit her. No, it was her son’s fault for daring to protect her that caused all of her problems.
Miko loves his mom and so it hurts when she couldn’t love herself. He returned to work. He used police resources to find Collins’s new address. He had moved from the last location after Miko confronted him and Miko wanted to return the favor of a black eye.
Tan spotted what he was doing. He tried to warn him against confronting Collins. He said he should report his mother’s black eye and let some patrol officers bring Collins in. His known abuse would violate his parole. Collins might return to prison or at the very most not be allowed around Miko’s mom.
Miko heard Tan. He just didn’t want to listen to Tan. He tried to forgive Collins for what he did. He tried to be the bigger person a few weeks back and Collins reverted back to the person he really is. There will be no more forgiveness or turn the other cheek.
Miko was just a boy when this all started. He’s now a man. He wants to kick the crap out of Collins. He was going to let his anger rule him and Tan alone wasn’t enough to stop him. Both Hondo and Deacon were off near the military base. Hondo got a call that his cousin went AWOL.
Andre joined the Marines because he was hoping to get his life together. He wanted to be like Hondo. He wanted to find purpose and then something happened. He was being accused of killing a man. The man he killed was Private Randall. Andre had a bust up with him the day before Randall was found dead.
Andre couldn’t be found. It was assumed he killed Randall and went on the run. Only things weren’t adding up. Andre left behind a gold watch that his late father left him.
He could have sold it years ago to get ahead of his many debts and he never did. He’d rather go on the run than sell that watch. It’s what he did before. The watch meant the world to him. It was his last gift from his father. Andre leaving it behind showed that he didn’t leave willingly. He was either forced to run or forced to hide. It turns out he had to do a little of both.
Andre actually made peace with Randall. The two of them left the base to get drinks. They were heading back when they heard some noises and so these two budding marines checked it out.
They found Captain Peters of the Military Police selling military weapons to two men they didn’t recognize. Andre and Randall were spotted. They tried to run for it. Andre got shot in the leg. Randall was captured. Peters pistol-whipped him for answers. He wanted to know what he saw and where Andre was. And Randall never talked.
Randall knew he was going to get murdered anyways. The least he could do was protect his friend before he was killed and that’s what he did. Andre went into hiding. Hondo was able to find him with a few clues his cousin left behind. He and Deacon heard the full story.
They promised to help. They just weren’t able to stop the Military Police from arresting Andre. They took him to the hospital. Hondo’s dad Pop agreed to keep an eye on Andre. Hondo and Deacon meanwhile found evidence against Peters. They spotted that he was selling weapons to domestic terrorists.
SWAT stopped the buy from going through. The FBI were there to clean up the mess. Now, the FBI owes them a favor. Pop also saved Andre’s life. He gave him his own tracker and when Andre was moved to an undisclosed location – Hondo was able to find him thanks to the tracker. He saved Andre’s life. Andre was going to live.
He also decided to finish up boot camp once his leg heals. He wants to go all the way. He truly wants to be a marine now. He already got the tattoo and everything. Miko’s situation also cleared itself up.
Tan reported Collins’s assault on Miko’s mother. He was arrested. He got bailed out by Miko of all people. Tan found out about it. He got worried that Miko was going to do something stupid and that wasn’t the case. Miko just wanted to stand up to Collins. He almost hit him just to watch Collins flinch.
It reminded Miko that Collins wasn’t prepared for a fair fight. Miko warned him again to say away from his mom and Collins tried to attack Miko when the younger man turned his back. Tan came on the scene. He saw what Collins was about to do. He warned Miko in time. Miko was able to disarm Collins. And he’s getting arrested for assaulting a cop.
There will be no one to bail him out this time.
THE END!
