Mary genuinely thought it would be her going home at the last tribal council. She prepared for it. She knew she was at the bottom of the tribe and so Kevin going home was a surprise. No one saw that coming. Mary could have felt secure, but she was smarter than that. She went into tonight’s episode knowing she couldn’t trust anyone in her tribe. The same goes for Sai. The fact Sai had to play her advantage last week was a sign for her. It made her realize that her alliances weren’t as strong as they could be.
It also wasn’t just the Vula tribe that was experiencing low morale. The same went for the Lagi tribe. They’ve literally been dominating the challenges and they still got depressed. They barely moved all day long. Joe knew he couldn’t let them wallow any further. He built a fire pit. He created a fire. He invited everyone to sit around and just talk. It was going well. Star didn’t involve herself because Star was more of a lone figure. She was off trying to solve the sypher she found. She left the others to it and funnily enough it didn’t take long for them to turn on each other.
The guys on the Langi tribe are all from California. They used that to create an alliance. The only one not included in that alliance was Star. Until Eva did something so cringey that her friends turned on her in an instant. Eva made a little bracelet for Joe’s daughter. She thought she was being nice. Her alliance thought she was being too much over something so stupid. It wasn’t a great bracelet. Thomas and Shauhin shared a look. They later said the “look” was a sign to cut Eva first the second they could.
Star was disliked for being a lone wolf. Only she had the right idea. The contestants couldn’t trust their closest friends. Sai and Mary both got up early just to go look for an idol. They first tried to sabotage each other and, when that didn’t work, they then got serious about searching on their own. It was Survivor. They couldn’t nor shouldn’t trust each other at all. Kyle for one was a part of two alliances in the one tribe. His biggest threat was David. David was a stunt guy. He loves his career. It just doesn’t pay the bills.
David was living in a trailer parked in front of his father’s house. He hated living like that. He thought it was pathetic. It also saddens him because he couldn’t start a family living like that. He was pushing forty. His girlfriend was also in her thirties. They want to get married. They wanted to start a family. His girlfriend wants to be a stay at home mother to no less than four kids. David couldn’t afford that and so winning this season was the best bet chance he has at starting a family. Depending on how he plays the game, his story could win him a lot of votes at the end.
David was also in peak condition. He does a lot of outdoors activities. He was muscled and he had great stamina. It makes sense that Mitch would be wary of him as a threat. Mitch just didn’t know that Kyle was already in alliance with David based on how great David was at the challenges. He approached Kyle with a plan to oust David and Kyle wasn’t sure if he wanted that to happen. Alliances were forever shifting. The Civa tribe wasn’t alone in the chaos. The Langi tribe turned on Eva so suddenly that they even approached Star for help in ousting her.
Biance befriended Star. Star had told her that Eva was basically interrogating her about her trips into the jungle. Eva wanted to know if she found anything and everyone knows that a big no no. People weren’t going to forecast the fact they found an idol. They’d rather keep everyone guessing until they ultimately play an idol or not. Then came the challenge. Both Langi and Civa tribes needed to pick two people to sit out of the challenge and then off they went. Lagi tribe dominated like they always have. Civa was a close second. And Vula came in last like always.

And Vula came in last like always.
After the last challenge, Lagi tribe got to pick three people to go on a journey. Justin from Vula, Kamilla from Cuva, and Biance from Lagi tribe were chosen. Justin was taking the biggest risk. It was his tribe that was going to tribal council. It was his tribe that was going to be eliminating one person. Justin leaving on the journey meant he couldn’t build upon his alliances. The one thing he was counting on was Mary being at the bottom. Mary herself realized that and so she played a long game. Mary didn’t scramble when she went back to their beach.
Mary instead went for a swim. She didn’t go look for an idol. She didn’t try to talk anyone out of voting her. She just went swimming and that alone made Sai spin out. It made Sai think that Mary already had an idol. Sai was so sure that she wanted to split the vote. Cedrek tried to talk her out of it. He told her that Mary going swimming wasn’t concrete proof she found something. He also tried to stop Sai when she potentially brought up voting out Justin. Sai was truly unraveling because Mary went swimming.
The journey also changed the game for three of them. Kamilla won an extra vote. She told her whole tribe about it. Biance lost her only vote. She only told Thomas and Thomas continued to lie her about his own advantage. Justin also lost his vote. He refused to tell his tribe or his alliance. They thought they were putting their votes on Mary. Sai was still unsure because of the swimming thing. It was just the four of them left and the tribal council was a long con for several people. Justin was lying. Mary was lying.
Mary, Sai, Cedrek, and Justin went into tribal. Mary used her shot in the dark. It left her safe and the votes against her didn’t count. It also revealed that Justin lost his vote. They had to vote again and it led to a deadlock. In a deadlock situation, the ones that weren’t voted get to pick who goes home. Mary didn’t have a say. Justin and Sai didn’t have a say. Cedrek had to choose who to eliminate. He befriended Justin first. Then Justin lied about losing his vote. He’s stuck up for Sai and she’s always been honest with him.
The one demand that Cedrek had was that Sai has to be willing to work with Mary. Sai agreed to that instantly. So, Cedrek eliminated Justin tonight. He put his faith in Sai and Mary. Let’s see what will happen when they drop the buffs later.
