In tonight’s The Amazing Race episode, they were at the final leg. There was one spot open in the final three. It came down to Izzy and Paige against Joseph and Adam. Both teams took a little too long learning the dance at the Moulin Rouge.
They also got stuck writing translations. It was mere minutes that differentiated the winner. This time the guys made it there first. Joseph and Adam were joining the other two teams on their trip back stateside. This was the end of the road for Izzy and Paige. They were eliminated, but at least they got to see the world.
The top three teams found themselves heading back stateside. They went to New York City. It was known as the gateway to the world because forty percent of the population were descended from immigrants. Most of whom entered through Ellis Island. The teams took a different route. They went by flight.
They ended up on the same flight and so the race began first to the taxis. Jag and Jas got super lucky because they literally conveyed their need to get there before other taxis in two languages and the driver understood both. He raced them to their first stop.
They had to get to the Empire State Building because they were going to be rappelling down it. Some found cool. Others found it terrifying. They were over a thousand feet in the sky and anything can go wrong. Its why they were all cautious going down. Though no one enjoyed it more than Kyland.
He loved the bird’s eye view of the city. He had the biggest smile on his face as he rappelled. Jag and Jas kept their lead. They asked their driver to wait for them and he did. He was now a part of their team.
They were off to the second stop while Taylor was rappelling next. They headed to Sesame Street. The iconic show has raised multiple generations of America’s children and they offer a fun opportunity on tonight’s episode. Back at the Empire State Building, Adam was struggling with the task. He was afraid of heights.
He didn’t want to take in. He just wanted to get down to safety. He also wanted to do that by going really slow. Joseph was amazed by his brother doing this and he said that their parents were going to kill him for making Adam do it.
But he did it. He made it down. He just had to wait for his brother before they could join the others in heading towards Sesame Street. They couldn’t go there empty-handed.
They had to bring along cookies for the cookie monster. The Cookie Monster wanted a special brand of cookies from this specific bakery. So, this was something they’d only dream of doing as a kid. Jag and Jas loved meeting their idols. One of them even went as the cookie monster as kid one Halloween. And they met Oscar the Grouch who gave them the clue to their next stop.
They next went to Spandex House. Many of the groundbreaking designs featured at the Met Gala originates in the Garment district. There, they have to pick on of the swatches.
They had to find them in the store and get bolts of them to deliver to some fashion students at the nearby college. That was eleven blocks away and by which they have to push the cart full of their fabrics.
Jag and Jas remained in the lead. They were already filling up their trolley by time Taylor and Kyland arrived. Adam and Joseph were coming in last to each stop.
Spandex House was no different for them. Everyone slowed down to catch up with the cookie monster, but luckily Oscar kept them on task and the Spandex House wasn’t so bad for the first two.
They still had their original taxi drivers. Joseph and Adam lost theirs. They asked him to wait at the Empire State building or at least nearby and he couldn’t be found once they finished the task. They had to go looking for a new taxi. It cost them time they didn’t have. They started out in third place and seemed to remain there.
All because of the taxi driver. Anyways, Jag and Jas couldn’t handle couldn’t quite tackle the final clue. The final clue was a crossword puzzle about their trip around the world. They knew the answers in their head.
They just didn’t know how to spell them and were naturally bad at crosswords. They were still working when Taylor and Kyland caught up to them. Talor was gifted at puzzles. She was quickly making up ground. Just not enough because Adam and Joseph joined them there.
Jag and Jas still managed to finish their last puzzle. Now, they had to head to Yankee Stadium. The stadium was the final pit stop. Taylor and Kyland weren’t far behind them.
They were going too. Joseph and Adam finally finished their puzzles. They were going there. Then someone’s driver worked a miracle because the first team to Yankee Stadium and the winner of “The Amazing Race” Season 38 was Jag and Jas. Jag has officially won two reality shows. The only thing left for him was “Survivor”.
Taylor and Kyland came in second. Joseph and Adam came in third. They all did great, but truly congratulations to Jag and Jas!
THE END!
