In tonights The Equalizer episode, Angel Salazar tracked down the Equalizer. The gangster somehow managed to identify Robyn. Which was unusual. She wasn’t some cop that tried to take him down. She was former CIA and Military Intelligence. She took careful steps to hide her real name. She did so even as she became the Equalizer.

She wasn’t careless at all and her friends knew that better than most. They knew that Salazar was getting close. They just had no idea how close. They were going over footage of the bombing that never happened and they found out that Salazar had been at the scene.

Salazar may have been behind the bombing itself. The person that set the bomb was an assassin. He was hired by someone because the bomb itself was a political assassination and the assassin tried to finish the job when the bomb didn’t go off.

He was supposed to take out a general of a certain country. Salazar was friends with the second in command of that general. They were seen together. They were plenty of photos of them. The guy could have given him access to a country’s weapon supply if his boss got taken out.

It would’ve turned Salazar’s small-time operation in New York into a game changer. He’d be a major arms dealer and could go global, but the assassination was averted.

Salazar lost his chance to become something more. He also saw Robyn with Detective Dante. He couldn’t track down Robyn. Only he could Dante. Dante was a great cop. He knew how to chase a perp. He just didn’t know how to hide from an arms dealer. Salazar followed Dante. He was able to track Robyn through Dante and that’s how he ended up in the Poconos.

The man was hoping to ruin the couple’s romantic getaway. He could have killed them and hidden their bodies in the miles of woods surrounding their little cabin.

They would never have been found. Or at least that was Salazar’s intention when he followed them. Salazar’s one mistake was that he underestimated Harry and Mel. Those two quickly traced his movements to the area they knew where their friends were staying. They tried to contact them. There was no cell reception. They hopped into the car and they went running after their friends.

It wasn’t enough to save lives. There had been another couple staying at the cabin next door. They were a bit freaky and intrusive. They barged their way in. They drank Dante’s wine.

They also tried to invite themselves to a fun time in the jacuzzi with Dante and Robyn. That last one being where the couple drew a line. They kicked out Gary and Glenda. They were about to finally enjoy their vacation when Gary came back because he left something. He was about to scoot his way back into their cabin when someone shot him.

Robyn and Dante took cover. They took out the first wave of men that came. They identified them as Salazar’s men. They knew a second wave was coming and they didn’t want to leave Glenda to die. The plan was for Robyn to make an emergency call while Dante got Glenda out.

They were supposed to meet back up at a tree they discussed and that didn’t happen. Glenda showed up by herself. Dante told her to run as he held off the men. Glenda wasn’t used to gunfire. She also didn’t know them well. She ran off not wanting to die and she didn’t have much hope for Dante.

Robyn was different. She was in love with Dante. She knew he’d need backup and she could be that backup. She returned to the cabin to look for him. He wasn’t there. Neither was Salazar.

Harry and Mel were. It was merely too late because by then Salazar had kidnapped Dante. The man knew that Dante was Robyn’s weakness. He was going to hold onto him until Robyn either turn herself in or come after him. She turned herself in. She went without weapons directly into Salzar’s hiding den. Robyn wanted to make sure that Dante was unharmed before she did anything else.

Once she saw him for herself, she gave the signal. Mel started killing off Salzar’s men. She was a sniper and her kill was unmatched. Robyn was trying to get Salazar.

He shot Dante in order to escape in the chaos. Dante told her that he was okay. He said the bullet wasn’t in a critical position. Robyn felt safe enough to leave him and she had to leave him. She had to end this thing with Salazar once and for all. He’d keep coming back if she didn’t. Robyn was running after him when Aunt Vi received a chance to take her relationship with Captain Curtis to the next level.

He was already cooking in her kitchen. He hasn’t gained enough trust to use her best pans only he really liked her. He told her as much. She felt the same and so he brought up them possibly moving in together. They were both up in there in age. They knew what they wanted. Curtis hoped it was each other.

Vi wasn’t really needed at home. Robyn was building something with Dante. Dee was going to be moving out to go to college soon. The house would feel big and empty without them there almost every night.

Vi had to consider her future. The same way that Dee was doing. Dee got into UCLA, but it wasn’t her first choice. Her first choice had been Howard. They turned her down after she got arrested and she thought that was it until she met her idol. Her idol was also her favorite author who happens to be a Howard alumni.

Dee quoted her in her application essay for the school. She got to talking to the author and she mentioned that she got turned down from plenty of schools for getting arrested. And so her idol pointed out that she should advocate for herself.

Repeal the decision. Apply again if she has to. Dee shouldn’t give up a dream because a few rejections. It gave Dee an idea and she pursued it. Her mother in the meantime finally resolved things with Salazar. She hunted him down. She killed him in a knife fight and she thought it was over. She went back to the cabin to check on Dante.

He told her he was fine. He also proposed. It’s why he surprised her with the romantic getaway in the first place. Mel had been right. He wanted to make things special for their girl.

Right after they proposed, Dante passed out. They rushed him to the hospital. The doctors saved his life with surgery and they told Robyn that the next twenty-four hours were still critical.

Not that Robyn saw it that way. Dante later woke up to find out that Robyn accepted his proposal. She found the ring he had on him and it was already on her finger. Dante was so happy. Everyone else was happy for them. They were all hopeful for their futures. Robyn and Dante were getting married and they wanted to continue their side business.

Harry and Mel knew they had to step away from the Equalizer business one day to start a family. Just not anytime soon. Aunt Vi also decided to move in with her Captain Curtis.

Dee gave her the kick she needed. Dee speaking with that author also helped more than she knew at the time. The author sat on the board of admissions at Howard and she was going to have Dee’s case reassessed. And so the future was bright.

THE END!
