On tonight’s The Voice episode, it’s the Finale Part Two! The contestants got their chance to perform solo yesterday. They performed an up-tempo and a ballad the night before. Tonight, on the other hand presented a rare opportunity they’ve been looking towards. They got to perform duets with their coaches. They were also much closer to being named the winner only that didn’t matter as much as the duets. They knew that holding their own against the coaches would reassure everyone that they hadn’t been wrong to vote for them or to keep voting if that was the case.

Everyone wanted to remembered on a night was packed with stars. The showed opened with a performance from Foreigner. The frontman even announced that he was retiring after twenty years with the band. He was going to be replaced by Luis Maldanado. Luis was great. He took over singing after the first song. He held his own amongst the others. He showed that Foreigner will continue to be great and they sung the classics. “Feels Like the First Time”, “Juke Box Hero”, and “I Want to Know What Love Is”.

The night continued with the return of Kelly Clarkson. She performed “Where Have You Been”. It was always great to see her. It was twice as good to hear her. Kelly has a one of a kind voice that couldn’t be denied and she looked so beautiful tonight. She always looked beautiful because she always remained flawless. Hopefully, her return tonight might mean she’ll return to coach because she was missed. Kelly was soon followed by the first duet of the night. John Legend performed with RENZO.

They took on a difficult song. They performed “As It Was” by Harry Styles. Harry’s music was deceptive. It looked easy. It actually sounded easy. It was in fact much harder than anyone thought. John was legendary in his own right and he still didn’t sound as great he normally would have. This song also managed to curse the flawless RENZO as well. Compared with his other body of work this season, his duet fell flat. They had more fun backstage during an impromptu art session than they did onstage.

The duets then kept coming with Kelsea Ballerini. She performed with Jaelen Johnston. They chose the song “Whiskey Lullaby” by Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss. This song highlighted both of their voices in such a great way. Even for nontraditional country fans watching. They sounded great together. Jaelen had a few slip-ups yesterday and he made up for it tonight. They also kept the country music going with Bryce Leatherwood. He performed “God Made”. It seemed a new song and he got the crowd on their feet with this one.

Chance the Rapper also got to introduce his new song. He performed “Space & Time”. He was a former coach and who knows? He might come back too. Michael Bublé knew that his duet was coming up. He was pulling double duty tonight because he has two artists in the finale. He had a workout session. He got invigorated and was ready for his first duet of the night. He performed with Adam David. They chose the song “The Weight” by The Band. The Band was a Canadian group and so look at Michael representing his home.

It also didn’t hurt that the song was a true classic. Adam was normally so worried backstage and tonight he wasn’t. He didn’t mind the cameras. Or the audience. He lived out his dream come true with Michael. They got to perform wonderful music together. Michael also got emotional during this performance. Michael was a great coach. It wasn’t just the results with him. He was proud of his artists. They were followed by a performance from Joe Jonas. He wasn’t with his brothers this time. He also wasn’t doing Pop either.

Joe’s song tonight sounded a little country. Maybe it was the opinion of one ear. Maybe not. Joe was a versatile artist and “Heart by Heart” was a great song for him and his career. No matter whichever genre he decided to tackle next. Soon it was time for Adam Levine to get his duet with Lucia Flores-Wiseman. They were both rockers at heart. They performed “While My Guitar Gently Weeps ” together. It was by the Beatles. It was also the perfect song for them. It matched Lucia’s style with Adam’s very nicely. It was practically seamless.

The same could be said about the duet that no one saw coming. Sheryl Crow and James Bay paired together to give a great performance of their new song, “You and Me Time”. James even grew his hair back out for this one. That’s how you know its good! The contestants also got the chance to finally perform together. The five finalists performed “Pompeii” by Bastille. They all got to enjoy themselves and highlight themselves and their friends. And they were friends after spending so long together.

The great Alicia Keys also had a duet. She performed with Amanda Reid. They performed “The River” on top of “Empire State of Mind”. The last one everyone knew. The first one will definitely be playing nonstop this summer. It was from a new musical on Broadway called “Hell’s Kitchen”. Tickets are being sold now. The contestants got to watch the new “Karate Kid” movie and they recommended that too. When they weren’t informing everyone about the latest movie or play, the cast even got to enjoy mocking the bromance between Adam and Blake Shelton.

Blake wasn’t really gone. He stopped by tonight to make sure that Adam wasn’t wearing out his chair. Adam reminded him that the only way to be sure was to come back and claim it. Blake left the door open on that one. Now, that Adam’s back could be motive enough for Blake to come back. Blake loved needling him way too much to let an opportunity pass by. He performed tonight. He got to sing his song “Texas”. He was from Oklahoma and so maybe that song was dedicated to someone from Texas. Too bad Adam was born in LA else that would have been really funny.

Michael then got to perform his final duet with one of his artists. He and Jadyn Cree performed “I Got You Babe” by Cher and Sonny Bono. It wasn’t as good as the original. Cher was freaking Cher after all. It also wasn’t bad either. Their rendition was sweet because their friendship was sweet. The cast, crew, and contestants have made this a very special season and it came to an end tonight. There could only be one winner.

The winner of season twenty-seven of “the Voice” was Adam David.

THE END!
