In tonight’s The Voice episode, it was Part 1 of the Live Finale! The contestants had to perform two songs tonight. There was up-tempo song and the ballad. Team John was up first with RENZO. RENOZO was his rock star. Literally! He blocked Adam to get the guy on his team. It’s a decision he’s never regretted. RENZO’s first song was “Fly Away” by Lenny Kravitz. It fit his up-tempo soul. It also reminded RENZO of when he was first starting out. He came to LA. He didn’t have a place to stay. He and a few buddies pitched a tent to get by. There was hardship but, there was also joy because he never would have met his wife.
He several chances back then. Now, look what he has. He has a family. They support his dream. He was closer than ever to winning the prize money this season and it could help launch his career. He was the showstopper last week and tonight he was the shows-tarter. RENZO was amazing. He did the song justice. He kicked things off in a way only he could. He was really the one to beat. Team Adam’s Lucia Flores-Wiseman was up next. She fell in love with music as a means of communication. There was a language barrier sometimes within families. Lucia made herself understood through song. She let people knew she loved them with the help of music
Lucia loved that she could now share that with the world. She loved writing in that journal. She was still writing her thoughts and her songs. Lucia’s first song tonight was a ballad. “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd. Her raspy voice was distinctive. She was the Rock Queen. Her look was also stunning for that performance. She was glamourous. Her makeup to her hair to her dress was executed perfectly. Lucia left an impression and America was going to have it tough with their votes. Team Michael was next with Jadyn Cree
Jadyn’s father was a musician himself. He tried out for “the Voice” first. He almost won. Only what stuck with Jadyn was when she got to perform with him after he was picked during the Blinds. It gave her the boost she needed. She decided to try out herself. She was now in the Finale impressing everyone with her ballad. She performed Selena Gomez’s “Lose You to Love Me”. It was very emotional song. Her rendition moved a few to tears. Her dad was so emotional because he was a proud papa watching her live her dream.
It takes courage to do what the finalists were doing. Jadyn was practically a daughter for Michael at this point because he was super proud of her too. Though it wasn’t just the finalists performing tonight. The coaches got in on the action. Michael Bublé performed “World On A String”. It’s a shame he never got to perform with the ratpack. They would have loved Michael. Their concert also would have been epic. Next up was Team Kelsea’s Jaelen Johnston. He was her Cowboy. He was so happy when he made her team.
Jaelen knew from the blinds that he wanted to make her team. It was that or nothing. Luckily, it proved to be everything. He kicked off his first performance of the night with an up-tempo song. He chose “What Was I Thinkin” by Dierks Bentley. He wanted to perform in honor of someone he lost and that’s possibly why he caught the nerves. It happened early on in the song. He started out with the first note well until the third note ended abruptly. He tried to cover it up by humming it. And it didn’t quite fit.
Jaelen quickly recovered. He finished the song on a high. Kelsea reminded him that he still showed up with his quick recovery. He also had another song waiting for him. Maybe what he needed was a ballad? Team Michael’s Adam David went next. He was truly talented and he doubted that sometimes. He struggled with confidence. He openly admitted that. He added that even now he was fighting to keep those dark thought away and it helps that he was so close to winning. His first performance tonight was a ballad.
Adam performed “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker. He too got emotional with this song. It ended up working in his favor because it made the song all the more heartfelt. It was a beautiful rendition. There was also second performances of the night to look forward to. Team Adam’s Lucia came back. Her second outfit topped the first. She wins best dress of the night. None of the others could top her. Not even Jadyn and Jadyn also looked great. There was one thing off about her up-tempo song. It wasn’t actually up-tempo.
Lucia chose “Wildflower” by Billie Eillish. It was either a ballad or sounded like one with Lucia’s voice because it was definitely not up-tempo. It was still great. She does have a great voice. The problem lies in that she broke the rules of the night and didn’t show the full range of said voice. Team Michael’s Adam came back with a genuine up-tempo. He chose “Hard Fought Hallelujah” by Brandon Lake. He started out as an underdog. The other coaches slept on him initially. Michael was the only one to turn for him and now everyone can see how great that decision was.
Adam David was true artist. It wasn’t merely his voice. It was his guitar skill. It was his stage presence. He wowed everyone tonight. This season has been so full of talent and apparently fun. The coaches made sure to bring the fun. They were up to so much backstage. It was everyone that brought the talent tonight. Team Champ Maelyn Jarmon came back to show off her newest song. It’s called “Dreamboat”. It sounded very ethereal and light. It was as if it was filled with love itself. It was a very moving performance and the finalists can look be happy if they perform half as well as Maelyn did.
Soon it was Team Michel’s turn again. His Jadyn Cree was back with her up-tempo song. She chose “Come On Eileen” by Dexys Midnight Runners. Her up-tempo was another real one. It was a dance song. It was getting people on the floor. Jadyn also had fun with this one. She decorated the stage. She got balloons, props, and backup dancers. Her performances tonight went a long way to showing she was ready. She wasn’t too young to win. She was followed by Team John’s RENZO. RENZO’s wife and girls came to see him in his room.
RENZO’s daughters were so adorable. He performed “Lover, You Should’ve Come Over” for his ballad tonight. It was by Jeff Buckley. It also allowed RENZO to show off a softer side to his tone. He could reach those high notes and he sounded wonderful with the low tones. He left a few people in tears as well. John’s eyes were definitely glassy after that performance. His family was in the audience wiping their own tears away and it’s so great how the finalists showed off the many facets of their talent.
They all sounded great. They all looked great, but there could only be one winner. Team Kelsea’s Jaelen closed out the night with his ballad. He chose “Cold” by Chris Stapleton. It those tear out your own heart kind of ballads. Jaelen was even feeling it for this performance. It was also a vast improvement over his earlier performance of the night. Kelsea was a little nervous about the song choice because she knew it was a big song. She was worried Jaelen might not be able to handle it and she was left pleasantly surprised when he knocked it out of the park with this song.
And now its time for America to start voting.
THE END!
