The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, July 11, reveals that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will spark Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Audra Charles’ (Zuleyka Silver) private celebration while Claire Newman’s (Hayley Erin) trust is tested.
At Crimson Lights, Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) will find Claire alone and ask about her father, so she’ll admit Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) passed away.
Holden will offer his condolences and relate to Claire since he lost his own dad to cancer.
There’ll also be some talk about Claire missing Kyle on Friday’s Y&R episode, so she’ll be hopeful that maybe he’ll sense she needs him and come home.
After Holden reflects on his personal experience with grief, he’ll suggest going out to breakfast as a distraction.
Claire won’t get on board at first, but she’ll eventually decide to accept Holden’s invitation after all.
Meanwhile, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will return from his trip and trade updates with Chelsea at Society.
When Adam learns Cole didn’t make it, he’ll have compassion for Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and decide to check on her later.
Chelsea will also get confirmation that Cane is Aristotle Dumas and that everyone’s trapped on the mountain without cell service.
Adam will admit that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) caught him with his family in Nice, but he’ll hope Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) can keep her quiet.
Chelsea won’t buy that Cane simply wants a fresh start in Genoa City since he’s buying up all this real estate.
Adam and Chelsea will plan to keep a lid on the Dumas story while they continue digging into Cane’s agenda.
After Adam says Cane must have a point person in GC, Chelsea will notice Holden entering the restaurant with Claire.
That’ll leave Chelsea smiling since she’ll think she already knows who that point person is.
Chelsea will explain how she caught Holden meeting with Cane and how he later flirted with her in hopes of scoring information.
Everything will add up to Holden being Cane’s spy, so Chelsea and Adam will decide to strike up a conversation with him.
After Adam and Chelsea walk toward Holden and Claire, Adam will let Claire know he’s sorry about Cole and that he plans to see Victoria.
Adam will also get Holden talking about his previous employment with Dumas and whether he might join Winters.
Holden will get agitated over all the questions, so Adam will apologize and suggest a meeting at Newman Media to discuss possible job offers.
Since Holden will claim he never met Dumas, that’ll make Adam think Chelsea’s theory is the right one as they speak privately afterward.
Adam and Chelsea will also be a bit concerned over Holden’s interest in Claire, but Chelsea will hint that Claire can take care of herself.
Back with Claire, she’ll decide she isn’t feeling up to breakfast after all, so Holden will totally understand.
Claire will once again reflect on missing Kyle – and the fact that he’s off in Nice with Audra will make matters worse.
After Holden admits Audra is a force of nature, Claire will wonder if he thinks she should be concerned.
Holden will ask how much Claire trusts Kyle, so she’ll claim she trusts him completely.
With that in mind, Holden will suggest Claire shouldn’t worry at all – though it’ll seem like she’s indeed a bit worried.
In Nice, Cane will stumble upon a close moment between Kyle and Audra as he gives her perfume another sniff.
Audra and Kyle will spar like an old married couple in front of Cane, so he’ll feel like maybe more than business is going on between them.
Kyle and Audra will deny that, but Cane will still find this whole working arrangement odd and won’t see how it really benefits Jabot.
Audra and Kyle will keep working to impress Cane, which will lead to more bickering.
In the end, Cane will decide he likes the idea of this rivalry publicity stunt and will suggest he can delay the public Dumas reveal until the perfume battle plays out.
Audra will ultimately invite Kyle into her train car, where they’ll have drinks to celebrate and share a toast to getting everything they want.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Kyle and Audra will continue playing with fire, so stay tuned for all the bad news that’s brewing.
