The Young and the Restless Thursday, July 17 Recap: Nick’s Deadly Cane Threat – Phyllis’ Secret Investigation

The Young and the Restless Thursday, July 17 Recap- Nick’s Deadly Cane Threat, Phyllis’ Secret Investigation.

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Thursday, July 17, reveals that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will make a deadly threat against Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) after Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) launches a secret investigation.

In their sleeping car, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will wake up startled after a bad dream where Nick and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) were in trouble.

Victor will know Nikki’s been worried about their children and Chancellor, but he’ll vow to become Cane’s worst nightmare if he comes after them.

Meanwhile, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will admit to Cane that she suspects he’s guilty, but she’ll want to do her job anyway and make sure no one can prove it.

Back on the train, Nick will talk to Phyllis and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) about finding the bloody dagger in his bathroom, so he’ll assume it’s the murder weapon and that Cane is framing him.

Chance and Phyllis will be skeptical, so Nick will feel like they’re taking Cane’s side and acting like he’s guilty instead.

Phyllis will assure Nick that she’d kill anyone who’d frame him, but she’ll doubt that Cane’s responsible – especially since he was with her the whole time and wasn’t the one who pulled the dagger out of Damian Kane’s (Jermaine Rivers) body.

Nick will argue that Cane has accomplices everywhere, so he’ll suggest “that weirdo” Carter (Vincent Stalba) might’ve helped or even Amanda.

Chance will struggle to buy that Cane went off the rails like this, but Nick will play up the fact that he’s been keeping secrets.

That’ll lead to Nick confessing Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) visit and revealing that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) saw Cane in Genoa City, so Cane’s been lying about them all being stuck there.

In Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) sleeping car, she’ll flash back to memories of Damian and cry in bed.

Lily will also think back on some recent memories of Cane and seem unsettled over everything that’s happened.

Once Chance shows up to question Lily, she’ll think this is a waste of time and will feel confident Cane is guilty of Damian’s murder.

Lily will suggest that Cane decided if he couldn’t have her, no one could. Despite Chance’s doubts, Lily will argue that someone needs to make Cane pay.

After Phyllis finds Cane and Amanda near the bar area, she’ll give them the news about Nick finding the murder weapon, taking it to Chance and accusing Cane of framing him.

Cane will argue that maybe Nick wants him to look guilty instead.

Although Chance is on the case, Phyllis will eventually suggest to Amanda and Cane that they need to launch their own investigation.

Back with Nick, he’ll stop by Victor and Nikki’s sleeping car with updates on Damian’s murder and the fact that he’s being framed.

Nick will point the finger at Cane for everything, but Victor will find it odd that he’d spend six years secretly crafting this new identity and suddenly be so reckless.

Nevertheless, Victor and Nikki will remain protective of Nick, who’ll corner Cane outside later and insist he’s not going to get away with this.

After Nick says Cane came after the wrong guy and family, he’ll warn Cane to come at him man to man from now on.

“Or trust me, you’re gonna wish you were the one who was dead!” Nick will declare as Thursday’s Y&R episode wraps up.
