It was the annual LAFD Bachelor Auction for charity. Eddie loved to mock those things. Especially the fact that someone spent over eight grand for Buck one year and yet he wasn’t laughing for long this time. His son went missing. He waited for him at the bus stop. Chris never got off the school bus. Eddie naturally freaked out. He learned that his son got a ride home from some stranger. There wasn’t anyone who thought that was odd and so he was calling everyone to see if they saw or heard from Chris. He returned home to find a mysterious car in his driveway. It turns out it belonged to Abigail.
Abigail was the one who gave Chris a ride home. She thought she was doing Eddie a favor. Eddie confronted her on it. Abigail said they were family and he reminded they were not. When he saved her life, it was because it was his job to do so. He was trained medic in the Fire Department. He just doesn’t go around adopting strays. Abigail got offended and she stormed out. Eddie later felt bad for hurting her feelings. He knew she didn’t have anyone else. Her parents should be in jail and her only other relative gave her an old car so that Abigail didn’t stay at her place.
Still, what she did was wrong. Eddie friends reassured him of that. It wasn’t even Buck’s kid that went missing and he was upset with Abigail as well. She was irresponsible. She made Eddie live out the worst possible nightmare a parent could have. Eddie getting short with her was the least of her problems. Eddie was still feeling bad so he wanted to know if he could help her. He reached out to the social worker he knew was trying to help her. Abigail wasn’t at the group home. She trashed her room and left. She hasn’t been back since.
The social worker said that Abigail could be stalking Eddie. She showed up at his door that first time without any warning or invitation. Abigail wasn’t loved by her parents and now she’s taken any signs of care and mistaking it as interest. She took issue Alex just for being a woman around Eddie. Eddie was asking Alex for advice on what to do about Abigail when someone began watching them. Eddie didn’t realize it at the time and the others haven’t noticed anything off because they were so focused on why Buck was acting out of character.
Buck didn’t want to do the bachelor auction this year. He didn’t want to be objectified. It was so odd because that wasn’t like him in the slightest. Buck was known for enjoying it. He used to do backflips onstage. He knew how to amp up the audience. Only he didn’t want to tell anyone he’s struggling to do a backflip at home. He said he injured his back. He never mentioned how. Buck wasn’t talking and Chimney didn’t know what to do. Buck was his moneymaker. Chimney also heard back from Hen. She was back on her feet.
Hen was even cleared by her doctor to return to work. Not that she wanted to do so. She didn’t think she could return to work and stay healthy. She needed to cut out stress. The whole job was stress. She had to decide so she chose her health. She has a family and she wanted to be there for them. Hen broke it to Chimney. She now had to break it to the others. She wasn’t the only one with bad news. Eddie’s car was defaced. His tires were slashes and Abigail spraypainted “Stay Away From Her”. Her being Alex.
Eddie spoke to Athena about it. He didn’t want to press charges this time. He only wanted Athena to talk to Abigial. He wanted Abigail to stop and possibly get help if she needs to return to the group home. Athena did find Abigail. She was no longer living out of her car. She has a job at a motel. She sleeps in the worst room for free and didn’t have to worry about sleeping in her car anymore. The place wasn’t as nice as the group home. Then again it didn’t need to be. Abigail was doing fine and so Athena let her know that she couldn’t go near Eddie anymore. Or Christopher. Or Alex.
Abigail later called Eddie. She told him that she wasn’t going to be able to contact him anymore. She wanted to say goodbye and Eddie felt something was off about the conversation. He drove to the motel. He knocked on the doors until he found Abigail. She had her suitcase packed up. It was revealed that she didn’t deface his car. That had been her father. Her father has been following her like she’s been following Eddie. It was the father who wrote the message because he thought Eddie was dating his newly turned eighteen year old daughter. And this man that liked control.
The dad was picking up Abigail. She was going back to live with her parents. Seeing Eddie at the motel had the dad got into a rage and he went at Eddie with a knife. He slashed him a few times until Athena showed up. She distracted him long enough for Eddie to knock the guy out. Sadly, Abigail never trashed her room at the group home. That was her dad who followed her there. Its why she ran away. She was hiding out the motel until she learned that her dad was bothering Eddie. She called her dad and was going to go home with him right before he tried to kill Eddie.
The man was going to jail for that one. Abigail was going to be safe. She can finally start over in Maine. Buck couldn’t do a backflip anymore because he was getting up there in age, but he still beat his highest record at the auction. Eddie betted on himself using Maddie. Ravi was won by Mae who really hustled for him. And it’s a good thing that Hen waited to break the news because she got into a car accident. She was fine. So was her wife. Hen quickly treated the victims of the car accident and she realized she can return to work. She can handle it.
Hen returned to work and Buck learned to knit with the ladies that bought him at the auction.
The End
