In tonight’s Chicago Med finale episode, the hospital remained under lockdown on tonight’s all new episode. There was a riot at the prison. Several prisoners as well as guards were brought to the hospital for treatment. It became even more difficult determine which were the dangerous ones as the prisoners changed into hospital garments

. Dr. Lenox tried telling the staff to keep an eye on everyone and unfortunately that was impossible to do with a crowded ED. There was one prisoner that was very dangerous. He ended up killing the guard watching him. He was roaming around the hospital. He was hunting a man. There was no telling what he would’ve done to achieve his objective.

The hospital was put on lockdown to keep everyone safe. They had to shelter in place. They were also asked to barricade the doors. This was the environment that Asher found herself in when she went into labor.

She was just about to go home too. She stayed back to tell a patient why she was leaving when the sirens went off. They barricaded themselves in. Asher had to deliver someone else’s baby on top of her own. The only help she got was from the patient’s best friend. He was the father of the baby. She was his and his husband’s surrogate.

It was basically down to those three people in the room to pull off a miracle. If that wasn’t bad enough, Hannah had to perform an emergency c-section. There was doubt whether she could hold the scalpel in place as she was experiencing contractions. It was also taking CPD forever to clear floor by floor.

They got to Lenox and Ripley in the ICU first. It was going to be a while before they made it to Labor & Delivery. Asher’s baby daddy was getting worried when he hadn’t heard from her since the lockdown. He went to the bathroom to see if he missed any messages and he ran into their now armed prisoner.

Wyett Dupere stole the gun from the guard. He was armed. He heard that Archer was about to become a new dad so he used that as a threat. He demanded that Archer help him.

Archer had no choice because he was being held at gunpoint. Those two disappeared right as Asher was finally freed from that room. She delivered a healthy baby boy for her patient. It was then her turn to go to a room. Her contractions were four minutes apart at the time and there was no stopping that train. She was taken to a bed. L&D even began to call for Dr. Archer over the speaker system.

It soon became odd when he never answered. Everyone in the hospital had heard the announcement. This included Sharon. Sharon checked on Asher and she didn’t spot Archer in the room. Sharon downplayed it to the woman in labor, but she knew something was wrong almost right away.

She had hospital security checked when and where Archer’s badge was last used. She knew enough about the situation that he disappeared about an hour before Asher became a patient. Sharon was also trying to save Dr. Charles’s career.

The board was meeting that night. They didn’t let a little lockdown deter them from wanting to replace Charles with Dr. Rabari. Dr. Rabari was deemed more efficient because he doesn’t wait around for results.

He pushes people out the door the second he’s the fMRI results. Charles dismissed him as a therapist and he found evidence to back that up. He found out that Rabari was diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder. He was misdiagnosed as a kid and so he doesn’t trust in the human element. He focused entirely on the fMRI.

Or at least that’s what Charles thought. It took him meeting Gio to change that perception. Gio was someone he talked to on a suicide hotline. Gio wasn’t even his real name. He used Gio to ensure he couldn’t be found. He was seriously considering suicide when he spoke to Charles over the phone. The conversation ended abruptly and Charles was worried that young man killed himself.

He found out only tonight that Gio was still alive. He looked for Charles via Google. He found his hospital and Rabari became his doctor. Rabari was good at listening.

Rabari’s problem was sometimes he didn’t always listen. He pushed for fast treatment in the ED. That’s what upset Charles and its why he was going to keep fighting for his job. He was fine with outpatients as Gio proves. It was the in-patients who needed him the most and he was failing with them. Also, it turns out Dupere wasn’t trying to kill Isaac.

He had been eyeing him in the ED because he was worried about him. They were in love. They dreamed about breaking out of the prison to be together.

Dupere went to Isaac’s room to check on him. He had his gun trained on Archer the whole time. He did all of that just to learn that Isaac was brain dead. The riot killed him. The same riot that began because a guard had developed paranoia. He attacked an inmate for no reason. He thought the guy had a shiv when he didn’t.

He also attacked Dr. Howard when she checked on him. She had to punch him to get him to let go of her throat. It was Charles who spoke to the guard about what happened. And all this was going right next door to Dupere saying goodbye to Isaac.

Dupere was quickly arrested when he put down the gun to hug his late boyfriend. Archer managed to make it to the delivery in time to see his daughter Mabel be born. Dr. Rabari also walked away from his position at Gaffney because he realized he was being manipulated by the board to oust Charles. Charles was a good guy who refused to leak his files because of his integrity.

He also made him realize that he was in over his head with Gio. He took him on as a patient to prove he could do talk therapy and it showed he was good at listening. He just has to nurture the skill.

Charles got to keep his job and Sharon found out that Miranda was trying to get rid of her.

Lenox was also told to stop lying by Ripley. So, she stopped. She told her brother she inherited prion disease and he broke down to cry in her arms. Kip needed the truth. Ripley needed to see that she stopped running from reality. They later got back together tonight.

And Dr. Frost said goodbye to his dad who died on tonight’s season finale

THE END!
