In tonight’s Fire Country episode, the damn suffered a technical error that flooded the valley below with water. It was almost biblical the way the floods were roaring in. Bode and Jake were stuck with Danny.

Danny being the one that was trying to send Bode back to prison. Danny refused to evacuate in time because he thought Bode was lying to him about a flood. He then saw it for himself and he still believed he could survive it on his own. He said he wanted to leave. They reminded him that his car was blocks.

He said he’d kayak or take their car. Until he saw their truck get washed away by the flood. The safest place was indoors and no one was coming to help them.

They couldn’t get a call out because SOS was down. It was flooded with calls from all over Edgewater. Jake said something similar happened during Hurricane Katrina.

They also couldn’t use their radios because they left them in the truck. The same one that got washed away. It must have happened with Bode’s cell phone too because they pinged it when they didn’t hear from him.

It was miles away from Danny’s home. They thought he must be heading downriver and the truth was that he was still Danny.

Jake eventually got tired of the attitude from Danny. He said he was supposed to be getting married. He should be having steak at the rehearsal dinner. Not boarding up the windows because Danny was so angry at the world that he thought he could a literal flood with it. Danny didn’t want to be saved. He felt he had nothing else to lose.

He developed anger issues after Bode broke into his house. He began snapping at his wife. He pushed her away and he also lost his son after the divorce. He blamed it entirely on Bode.

Bode wasn’t upset with him. He said he lost his family too. He now had them back in his life. He said it happened because they forgave him faster than he could forgive himself. Its why he never says never anymore. Danny was just about to keep his family’s photo dry when a wave crashed into the house. It trapped Danny under a falling cabinet.

Danny thought that was it. He even told Bode that him dying would make all his problems go away and Bode refused to give up on him. He and Jake worked together to free Danny. They went up to the roof to light the rescue flares.

They didn’t know that Sharon was looking for them. She took the helicopter to go look for them. She didn’t find anything where Bode’s cell last pinged. They found nothing so they went looking for survivors. They also had to tell Manny that he was on his own at the hospital. Manny couldn’t let that happen.

He said they were in the path. He also mentioned that Roberta’s aneurysm burst. She was rushed to surgery. Camille was sitting on it. They couldn’t get Roberta medevac in time because she wasn’t deemed a priority at first.

She only became one after the aneurysm burst. So, Sharon tried her best to help Manny. She sent Three Rock. Eve had to unsuspend Hartman because she needed all hands on deck.

They cut off the flood by setting up a barrier. They also pushed the backup generator inside. Hartman gave one great speech to motivate his team of firefighters. It was enough to get him mostly out of trouble. Eve was still going to put him at latrine duty for about a month. They kept the lights on at the hospital. They saved countless lives.

Roberta’s life was saved. She survived surgery. Manny felt so great that he kissed Camille and he eventually left Roberta with their daughter while he attended Jake’s wedding.

Violet still wanted to get married. She realized how much Jake meant to her when they couldn’t find him. The man put his own life at risk to get to a boat and saved both Danny and Bode. He’s the one that got the rescue chopper to follow him. He saved their lives. Danny ended up forgiving Bode for what happened ten years ago. The only thing he asked for was to never see Bode again.

Bad things tend to happen around Bode. Danny may be new, but he was quick to figure that one out. He was going to try and reunite with his family. Bode inspired him in that sense.

Bode also gave Jake and Violet his parents’ wedding ring because their originals got lost in the flood. The rings became more memorable that way. Nothing bad happened at the wedding. It went off perfectly. Bode even told Chloe he loves her back. Sharon even agreed to take a trip with Alexi. And so they were happy at that wedding.

Things were good for now and hopefully the next season will pick up on that positive energy.

THE END!
