On tonight’s Fire Country episode, Bode wanted to be the new REMS-1 Team Leader. He spoke to his uncle. His Uncle Luke thought he was still too green. He’s been on the engine for a year and he just got into REMS. Luke had to push him to get him in. He now couldn’t use his sway to get him promoted.
These things takes time. The higher ups needed to get to know Bode as a person and not as the darker side of his record. Chloe actually gave him an idea to help them know him a little quicker than a few years. She suggested he wears a GoPro. They could see him in action that way.
Bode could get a GoPro. Only he has access to body cams so he borrowed one. Bode was so busy focusing on this that he didn’t see Jake spin out. Jake came up with the idea of proposing to Violet.
There was a problem though because Violet also came up with the idea. Hers was less romantic. She proposed to him as a means of them both getting to keep their careers. Jake was proposing because marriage meant a lot to him. He wanted to do it right. He wanted to start the rest of his life with Violet.
Jake has been practicing his speech. He wanted to take her on a hot air balloon ride over the town. He wanted to fly over everywhere that’s been important to them, He then was going to give the speech and get down on one knee.
Violet didn’t put any such thought in her marriage proposal. She compared it to getting their driver’s license renewed at the DMV. It hurt Jake’s feelings. He didn’t say yes. He said he wanted it to be important. He then got called into work because they were dealing with a sudden cold snap.
The winds shifted drastically. It dropped ten degrees in less than thirty minutes. It was the worst sort of weather to take her guys out in and Eve still did it because she was trying to teach them a lesson.
She caught them gambling with actual cash. It was against the rules for Three Rock. She took them on a hike up Mount Silas to teach them humility and it had them arguing. The argument soon got physical. It resulted them in them setting off an landslide made of ice. The five of them all fell about thirty feet. They luckily didn’t lose their radios because Eve called the the fall in.
They had to be rescued. There was just an issue. The cold snap and the wind picking up made it difficult for the helicopter to pick up the injured deputy. They couldn’t send anyone else up so Bode buckled down. They created shelter. They created a fire. It was going well only the youngsters were still fighting.
Tex said something that sent Zane off. Zane ran off on his own. Bode had to follow him and to prove he remembered where he came from – he turned off the bodycam. He could get in legal trouble for doing that. He did it because he didn’t think Zane should be sent back to prison for a mistake.
Bode didn’t care about his career if he let down people just like him. The two boys were fighting because Zane cheated at cards. Tex realized it. Gunnar fanned the flames.
All three were supposed to be doing something else. Gunnar should’ve been studying to become an electrician. Tex should’ve been studying for his GED. Zane should’ve been working out because he was the slowest member of the team. Zane kept calling Tex stupid and Tex kept calling Zane a failure. Bode had them working together.
He also had his uncle send out another chopper. They cleared the air. He got them all off that mountain. Gunnar got medical treatment. Eve even learned she shouldn’t be jealous of a baby.
Francine became a foster mom. Eve became jealous of the child and she missed Francine. She ended up flirting with Eleanor. It all worked out. Luke also suggested that Bode claim his camera turned off by accident. His footage before he turned off the camera was used to portray REMS in a commercial. And so Sacramento was paying attention now.
And Jake had his friends and loved ones help him pull off a real proposal. He learned it didn’t have to be grandiose. He proposed at the firehouse. Violet was so moved she yes.
They love each other and they were going to start their lives for real. Not just on paper. It was so sweet that it inspired Eve to leave a gift for Francine’s new foster child. It also got Manny being romantic with Camille up until his ex-wife Roberta showed back up but Sharon thought she was going to be asked out and instead it was a business deal.
THE END!
