In tonight’s Fire Country episode, Jake’s wedding was fast approaching. The happy couple were already dancing before their big day. They were so happy.
They were so in love. It even encouraged Eve to invite Eleanor as her date. Bode being Captain Obvious pointed out that Eleanor was already invited to the wedding.
She has her separate invitation. She didn’t need to be Eve’s plus one. Eve then pointed out that she was hoping to use the wedding as a soft launch of her relationship with Eleanor. She wanted to make it official and Bode was raining on her parade. He was only doing so because he was so scared about his conversation with Danny Marks.
Danny’s life went to hell after that night. He moved. He doesn’t seem like he ever left his cabin once he moved to it. His car was old and no longer usable. He was scared of the outside world. He was scared because Bode made him feel scared. Bode invaded his house.
He beat up Danny. Danny felt he left him for dead. It doesn’t matter the situation or that Bode was high when he did it. What mattered was that Danny didn’t feel safe. He later told Bode that the only way he’ll feel safe was if Bode turned himself in to the police.
Danny even wrote down the phone number to the police department. He demanded that Bode turn himself in. Chloe argued against it. Bode didn’t. Bode knew that this was his one chance to make amends and so he took the offer. He called the department to confess to a crime from ten years ago.
Sharon hated his strong moral compass even as she still loved her son. She let her son take the day off knowing he was going to make amends. She just thought he was coming back afterwards and that they could finally move on.
She didn’t expect that Bode was turning himself in at the same time she was pulling off a rescue. There had been a fire at a substation. They had to shut down water to the dam. The town could be without electricity for a while. Only it was needed. There was a man trapped high in the air.
He couldn’t come back down safely if they didn’t cut electricity. Jake was also riding his brother. He loves Malcolm. He pulled strings to get Malcolm his job at 42. Its just that he heard from his fiancé that the firm in charge of CalFire had thought Malcolm was a liability.
It made Jake snap at Violet as the easy target. He didn’t just get his brother a job. He vouched for him. He went over his Battalion Chief’s head to do it too. Manny wasn’t one for grudges and that worked out great in the short-time. Things might be different long-term.
Jake responded to the fire at the substation. He practically rode Malcolm making sure he didn’t make mistake and eventually Malcolm had to tell him that was enough.
Yes, he failed to requalify as a firefighter in Drake County. He was now a firefighter in Edgewater. He was getting used to a new team and different equipment on top of trucks. There was bound to be a period of adjustment.
The same goes for Eve’s team at Three Rock. One guy graduated the program. He got early parole thanks to all he did at the fire camp and so his buddy tried to do the same.
He kept trying to prove himself until he started another fire behind the substation. Eve had to bench him. She then had to set Three Rock onto fixing his mistake.
They were putting out fires and even received help from Eleanor’s team. Eve then tried to ask about going to the wedding with Eleanor. Eleanor though it would be a great idea if they carpooled. And Eve corrected that assumption.
Eve asked to go to the wedding together like together together. Eleanor then said she thought they were just having fun. She felt that Eve was still pretty hung up on Francine seeing as that’s all Eve talked about when they first met.
It was a couple of weeks back so its not like they’ve been sleeping together for long. Eve felt a bit silly for thinking they could become something more.
Jake also saw Malcolm take the lead tonight and he felt like he had been proven right. He immediately called Violet to tell him the good news.
Only Violet doesn’t know if she was still wants to marry him because of what happened earlier. Jake was feeling down and then he ran into Bode. Bode told him what he had to do.
They were still talking when the dam burst open again. It was causing a flooding. Bode knew that Danny was in the flood zone.
He said he had to get him out of there because his car was busted. Both Bode and Jake drove to Danny’s cabin. They tried to convince him to leave and he refused to go anywhere with Bode.
Bode was still trying to convince him to leave with him when the dam’s full water supply was about to wash them out – they all had to get inside of Danny’s cabin to take cover.
Manny meanwhile was trying to convince his both his ex-wife as well as his new girlfriend to leave with him because the hospital was in the flood zone.
THE END!
