In tonight’s Fire Country episode, Sharon found thousands of dollars after a fire. She wanted to keep it. She wanted to clean the money and use it to fund more firefighters for Station 42. Her stepdad the literal criminal called it crazy. He couldn’t believe that sweet Sharon was discussing this. He tried to talk her out of it.
She couldn’t be dissuaded. She wanted to fix the firehouse and she didn’t care about the steps she had to take. Sharon unfortunately taught Eve the same message. They both were getting in trouble. Sharon couldn’t keep her head down now that an official investigation has been opened in the fire by CalFire.
Violet was the one who broke the bad news. There was a Ring camera footage of the day of the fire. The video showed Jake doing structural integrity tests.
He said in that video that this house was a loser and that those upwind were winners. The residents gotten angry that their home was allowed to burn because of his judgement. They went to the news. Its become a meme. Its got so bad that Wes heard about it and so again he approached Sharon. He told her that the money was too hot to move or clean. He advised her to hand it in to Mickey.
Mickey was the sheriff. She’d help Sharon. Only Sharon wasn’t ready to let go of the money. This scandal has launched an official investigation and it got worse.
Jake has been put on administrative duties. Bode has to test his Volunteer Fire Department to see if they should’ve been at the mobile home fire to begin with. Eve also has to verify how she was able to fix her transport vehicle. She lied on her earlier paperwork. She didn’t want to reveal that one of her inmates used a contraband phone to pull strings to get them a new radiator.
She now has to come clean before an official investigation figures it out. Eve was meeting with Violet to discuss her next steps. She left Manny in charge of her firefighters.
They were very upset to learn they had to go back to camp. They wanted to be working towards early release. Angel was itching to do so, but he’s responsible for all of them getting benched. Eve might get fired for what she allowed to happen on her watch. They had to wait to get a new captain in and see if they’d get in trouble too for Angel’s mistake.
Manny knew instantly that Angel was behind this. He warned Eve. She hadn’t listened. Manny was so upset that he had a few words with Angel back at the station. He told her that he got his daughter out of the neighborhood because he knew at the time that he had to protect her no matter what. It was the best decision for his daughter.
He didn’t stick around to protect Angel and that was on him. Now, things are different. He has someone in his corner and that someone was Eve. Eve refused to give a name as she reported her misconduct.
Eve’s interview with Violet was also interrupted by a call. Eve was needed because Bode’s volunteers found someone in distress. They found Ken. They stopped the pack test because they had to help him. Ken was a farmer.
His goat got out. The volunteers found it with blood on it. They realized quite quickly it wasn’t the goat’s blood so they checked his tag. Bode recognized whose farm he belonged to. He stopped the official watch. They went to the farm where they found Ken under his own tractor.
Ken had suffered a ministroke. It hadn’t been his first. The difference this time was that his tractor fell on him after he lost control of it and the one thing that was killing him was also saving his life.
He suffered crush syndrome. He was glad that a priest was there to offer his final rites. Ken knew that his time was off and he only had one request. He wanted to say goodbye to his wife before they moved the tractor. Ken got that and, while he passed away not long after saying his goodbye, the VFD did prove themselves. They proved they were firefighters.
They passed the pack test. Bode told CJ that they couldn’t do any of this without her. CJ was still considering taking off, but she was needed in Edgewater. She even ran into Mason Ellis.
He was a famous baseball player out of Philadelphia. He also grew up in Edgewater and was clearly interested if she was willing to stick around to pursue it. Bode in the meantime tried to save his long-distance relationship with Chloe. It wasn’t easy. They love each other and sometimes that’s not enough. And so they both promised each other to keep working on their time together.
To stay together.
Angel gave Eve his contraband cellphone as an apology. She happily accepted it and there overall good news. There was an anonymous donation to the firehouse. It was enough to hire additional firefighters. Like CJ who decided to stop running. It was just Sharon and Wes who knew where the money came from. Wes warned her at the very end that someone will come looking for the money only Sharon hadn’t wanted to hear it.
And Jake fixed his PR scandal by talking to the victims of the fire to explain why he detached from what he saw with his unwise choice of words. It wasn’t an apology. It had been an explanation and surprisingly it had been enough.
THE END!
