General Hospital (GH) recap for Friday, August 28, reveals that Ava Jerome (Maura West) drugged Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) beverage and deepened her dangerous alliance with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).
Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) also got a cellmate that left him stunned, so here’s how all Friday’s GH action went down.
In Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) office, Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) interrupted her conversation with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).
That led to some arguing over the WSB ordering Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) to run Jasper Jacks Enterprises.
Brennan acknowledged that the reasons for that mission were above his pay grade, but he made it clear that Carly and Valentin shouldn’t interfere.
Jack also used this opportunity to take some jabs about Carly not being able to compete with Valentin’s Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) fixation.
Once Valentin was alone with Carly, he pointed out that Brennan’s words were aimed at hurting her.
Valentin acknowledged that he put Carly in danger when he took the risk of contacting Anna’s facility and was sorry about that.
Carly understood why Valentin had been so concerned about locked-up Anna since she was just as concerned about Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) when he was trapped in Jakarta.
At the Metro Court pool, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) quizzed Ava about her Drew alliance and tried to steer her away from it since it would inevitably come back to bite her.
As for Drew, he scored a thumb drive with a virus on it from Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) and faced questions about his plans for it.
Drew eventually met with Ava and talked about his goal of using that virus on Carly’s office computer.
Once Drew messed with the security system, he could break in Brennan’s suite and steal the dirt Jack had on him.
Ava worried about how long she’d be able to keep Brennan busy over drinks, but Drew handed over a sleeping pill to help with that.
Ava grew alarmed over the idea of drugging a WSB agent and nearly bailed on their alliance, especially after Nina’s warning earlier.
However, Drew convinced Ava to stick with their partnership against Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and got her to accept the sleeping pill.
Afterward, Ava crushed the pill inside the packet it was in and got it ready for Brennan’s drink.
Then, Ava met with Brennan under the guise of a Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) discussion.
Brennan drank one drink and ordered another, which came to their table at the Metro Court Gardens while he was busy with a phone call nearby.
That gave Ava a chance to dump the crushed sleeping pill into Brennan’s fresh beverage.
At the Metro Court restaurant, Anna sat down with Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) and questioned her about why Curtis passed up the plea deal.
Jordan talked about Curtis’ obsession with Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) being the other driver and wished she had convinced Curtis to accept that 8-month offer.
Sonny also met with Laura Collins (Genie Francis) about his decision to go completely legit.
That led to some talk about Drew’s fight for Sonny’s piers and how he might use Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) as part of Sonny’s takedown.
Laura wanted to end the conflict, so she brought Sonny with her to corner Drew and try to talk things out.
Although Drew didn’t have time for this, Laura made it clear that the conversation needed to happen now.
At Pentonville, Curtis met with Warden Alvarez (Geoffrey Rivaz), who explained that Curtis could be a target due to his past in law enforcement and ties to the DEA.
Curtis thought he could defend himself, but Warden Alvarez pointed out that he could add to his sentence if he engaged in fights.
To minimize the risks for all parties involved, Warden Alvarez put Curtis in a more secure part of the prison with a high-profile cellmate.
Curtis seemed shocked and not happy at all when he saw who that cellmate was, but the show didn’t reveal the person’s identity.
Of course, we know it’s going to be Sidwell who Curtis gets stuck rooming with.
At the Quartermaine boathouse, Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) had a mini meltdown after spilling a croquet set and got Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) help cleaning it up.
Willow admitted to having a rough few days and acted like people still judged her despite her acquittal.
Chase listened to Willow rant about that and her difficult situation with Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) before giving her one of his usual pep talks.
At the Metro Court pool, Serena Baldwin (Kelly Kruger) made a pitch to Michael about revamping the Deception brand to focus on stream-lined, clean beauty care.
Since Serena was in her bathing suit, she ultimately convinced Michael to take off his shirt.
Nina witnessed this and sauntered over to confront Michael about cavorting with another prostitute.
Serena introduced herself and said she was actually the VP of product development at Deception.
After Nina left, Serena questioned Michael about whether he approved of the job title she gave herself.
Michael thought Serena should start out as Deception’s creative director and shook with her on the deal.
