General Hospital Friday, June 5 Recap: Cullum Takes Obrecht Prisoner, Sonny Burns Sidwell’s Evidence

General Hospital (GH) recap for Friday, June 5, reveals that Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) abducted Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) for an important reason while Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) got rid of the blackmail proof that Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) had been holding over him as well as Laura Collins (Genie Francis).

At the coffee warehouse, Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) delivered the photos and negatives that he stole from Sidwell’s safe.

Even if Sidwell tried to use the gun with Laura’s DNA on it, Sonny insisted it wouldn’t be an issue since there was no body to prove any crime.

Lucas warned this wasn’t real freedom since Sidwell could still hurt their loved ones.

Sonny wanted to kill Sidwell, but Laura couldn’t allow that and insisted on taking him down through legal channels.

Lucas suggested they could catch Sidwell in the act of killing someone else and mentioned using the safe to their advantage.

Once Lucas took off, Sonny burned the blackmail photos and negatives while Laura hinted about what she planned to do next regarding Sidwell.

As for Lucas, he returned to the safe at Wyndemere and got inside it again for his mysterious mission.

Lucas eventually closed it up just before Sidwell appeared.

At Willow Cain’s (Katelyn MacMullen) place, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) was reluctantly helping her give Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) physical therapy when Liesl barged in demanding answers about whether they had helped Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) flee.

Willow and Nina denied it before Obrecht noticed Drew’s constant attempts to blink SOS. Liesl worried about Nina and Willow heading for trouble, but Nina was more concerned about Willow setting herself up for heartbreak when it came to Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard).

After Willow rushed off to deliver some legal documents related to Phoebe (Luna and Lucia Creighton), Obrecht found out about Willow offering Chase the chief of staff job.

Liesl sounded the alarm since Willow could turn on Nina and made it clear that she believed Willow could get Chase back.

At the law office, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) admitted she was able to track down Phoebe’s father, so Chase and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) were visibly disappointed since they assumed he’d want to raise her.

Alexis insisted the father had been informed of the situation and thought the adoption was a good idea.

The father’s only condition was that he wanted a closed adoption and for everything to be sealed, which meant his identity would remain undisclosed.

Brook Lynn and Chase weren’t thrilled about all the secrecy, but they got on board with the idea since the bio dad wouldn’t budge.

Raising Phoebe was obviously the most important thing to Chase and Brook Lynn.

Willow called about some expedited documents since she’d spoken with the director of social services.

While Chase awaited Willow’s arrival, Brook Lynn offered a bogus excuse about needing to deal with Deception drama in person and took off.

In reality, Brook Lynn wanted to meet with Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) about her Willow problem since Chase’s ex was going after him.

Lucy was an expert on matters of adultery and agreed to help Brook Lynn handle Willow.

Back at Alexis’ office, Willow showed up with the paperwork she promised and was thrilled over Chase’s news about the adoption moving forward.

Willow hugged Chase and credited him as well as Alexis for helping her keep her freedom, so Alexis got uncomfortable.

At the Metro Court Gardens, Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) flattered Ava Jerome (Maura West), who knew this was really about keeping her quiet about Ethan being Phoebe’s father.

Ava assumed Ethan was cooking up some scheme where he’d swoop in for Quartermaine money at the eleventh hour, but Ethan insisted his intentions were pure.

Although Ava agreed to keep the secret, she hinted that it was going to cost Ethan.

At Wyndemere, Cullum spoke to Sidwell about Britt’s work mostly being completed, so they just needed a brilliant scientist to finish what she started.

That led to Cullum ambushing Liesl in her car as Friday’s GH episode wrapped up.

Cullum was in the backseat as he wrapped a gloved hand around Obrecht’s mouth and left her in panic mode.

General Hospital spoilers say Cullum will take his prisoner back to Spoon Island soon, so stay tuned.
