General Hospital (GH) recap for Monday, July 27, reveals that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) made it through the lake chaos alive and stunned Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) as a result.
Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) also didn’t tell Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) about knowing the truth about Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) before the news about his identity went public, so here’s how Monday’s show played out.
In Willow Cain’s (Katelyn MacMullen) office, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) acknowledged that Willow wasn’t under arrest, but he advised her to come with him for questioning in Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) case.
Willow teared up as she asked Chase to say he couldn’t find her since she was in the middle of something important.
Chase didn’t want to lie for Willow and pointed out that they’d probably just send another officer to her house anyway.
Willow decided to go in for Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Molly Lansing-Davis’ (Kristen Vaganos) interrogation, but she denied any link to Sidwell beyond meetings related to his corporation.
Willow also complained about feeling harassed by the PCPD and insisted any further questions would have to go through her attorney.
Dante and Molly were left feeling like Willow was hiding something once she was gone.
In Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) office, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) made Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) his witness as he struck a deal for his accounts to be unfrozen in exchange for Brennan’s black box.
Valentin indeed handed over the box, which Brennan eventually opened before pulling out Drew’s incriminating file.
As for Valentin, he got his wish when Josslyn later confirmed he was now solvent.
Down by the Quartermaine boathouse, Nina panicked after flinging Drew’s wheelchair into the water.
When Drew didn’t resurface, Nina raced to Brennan’s office and learned he was now in possession of the blackmail material.
Nina insisted it was too late since she’d already killed Drew – or so she thought.
After Nina explained what happened, she pushed for Brennan’s help covering it up.
Once Gio headed down to the lake for a swim, he saw something in the water and was taken aback.
By the time Brennan and Nina showed up, Gio had already helped Drew get to safety.
Nina acted like she’d left Drew to get some air and returned to find him gone, so Gio confirmed he was alive following his water tumble.
While Brennan and Nina wondered about Drew’s whereabouts, Willow went home to collect a few things since she still expected to bolt on a plane with the kids.
Willow noticed the floor was dirty and ultimately looked up to find a soaked Drew standing there looking livid.
Next, Chase caught up with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), who learned about him taking Willow in for questioning and that he turned down her recent offer to accompany her on a conference trip.
At the Metro Court pool, Ava Jerome (Maura West) grilled Ethan Lovett (now played by Christian Howard) about the baby paternity drama again before admitting she wasn’t going to expose his fake bio dad secret.
Ava assumed their business was concluded, but Ethan stopped her from leaving and convinced her to stay for another drink.
At GH, Britt slapped Jason so she’d have an excuse to take him into an exam room, where she ultimately explained she wasn’t dying and never had Huntington’s disease.
Jason was relieved for Britt and questioned her about Cassius, but she didn’t say much beyond confirming that “Nathan West” wasn’t really Nathan West (Ryan Paevey).
Britt got interrupted to help deliver a baby and had to take off, but Jason hoped to finish catching up later.
Both Britt and Jason assured each other that they meant the love declarations they made before he was taken into WSB custody.
General Hospital spoilers say Britt’s secrecy about Cassius could lead to problems in her romance with Jason, so stay tuned.
