General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal one GH actor recently talked about running for U.S. President, so let’s discuss who could have a political future outside of Port Charles.
GH fans know Stephen A. Smith best as Brick, Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) loyal surveillance expert. Brick always steps up when Sonny needs him, but now his portrayer is considering stepping up in a leadership role for his country.
Smith, who can also be seen on ESPN’s First Take and The Stephen A. Smith Show, has revealed that he’s mulling over a U.S. presidential run, so let’s look at what he said to ABC News’ This Week co-anchor Jonathan Karl.
“I have no choice, because I’ve had elected officials, and I’m not going to give their names, elected officials coming up to me. I’ve had folks who are pundits come up to me. I’ve had folks that got a lot of money, billionaires and others that have talked to me about exploratory committees and things of that nature,” Smith admitted.
Although Stephen A. Smith acknowledged that he’s not a politician and has never really wanted to be one, he’s decided not to rule out future White House aspirations.
Smith insisted that even his own pastor encouraged him to “leave the door open for any possibilities,” so he’s doing that now.
Of course, if Smith does decide to officially kick off a presidential run, then Sonny may have to find someone else to tackle his security problems and surveillance needs. Then again, Brick might continue to fulfill his duties off-screen.
Either way, Stephen A. Smith just might embrace a career in politics.
It’ll be interesting to see what the future holds for Smith and how it’ll affect what’s ahead for Brick in PC.
In the meantime, several storylines are about to heat up on the ABC soap, including Sonny and Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) attempt to gain the upper hand on Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).
There’ll be some twists and turns as Sonny uses Sidwell’s love triangle with Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) and Ava Jerome (Maura West) to his advantage.
General Hospital spoilers say Sonny will do whatever it takes to take Sidwell down, so stay tuned for updates on all the drama to come.
