General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Ferncliff hasn’t been featured in a while, but it may come back around as two characters head for trouble.
There could be a couple of new patients who end up getting forced into Ferncliff down the road.
For starters, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) managed to fool her doctors in France, but she obviously didn’t need to be released from her mental health clinic.
It’s clear that Anna still needs treatment since she’s seeing Peter August (Wes Ramsey) visions constantly.
“Peter” keeps popping up to pressure Anna into heading down a risky path, which could end in extreme danger for Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).
Since “Peter” wants Anna to kill Britt, there’s a good chance Anna will cave in and try at some point.
If Anna goes after Britt and gets caught, something will have to be done about it.
Anna can’t keep playing police commissioner while carrying out deadly plans and talking to someone who’s deceased.
Anna’s criminal behavior could lead to the truth coming out and expose that her mental health struggles are still a problem.
Ferncliff could be in Anna’s future, so that’s an option to consider at the end of this disturbing “Peter” storyline.
Meanwhile, Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) might face a Ferncliff stint of her own.
Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is already growing concerned about the risks Willow is taking and the potential for her daughter’s actions to backfire.
Even before all the attempted murder and fake stroke drama played out with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), Nina was unsettled after realizing Willow must’ve been the one stalking Daisy Gilmore (Brenden and Evelyn Beimford).
Willow’s GH storyline obviously took her even more off the rails through everything that’s happened with Drew, so it’s easy to see why Nina’s so on edge.
Nina can’t predict how far vengeful Willow will go and the gambles she might take with her freedom, especially in the aftermath of his drugging fiasco.
Of course, Nina has made some pretty wild moves of her own – like dumping Drew into the lake not too long ago.
However, Willow is the one at the heart of this story and the one who could wind up in Ferncliff sooner or later.
It’s possible Willow will face prison time instead, but the show could potentially rehabilitate her if they work the mental health angle in the end.
