General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that it might be time to start thinking about a crucial recast.
Many fans have been missing Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) on-screen, but Mattsson may not be able to reprise the role anytime soon.
Back in March, it was announced that Sofia Mattsson had joined Days of Our Lives and that she’d be making her DOOL debut in early 2027.
If Mattsson signed on for a long-term role in Salem, GH may have to bring on someone else to play Sasha at some point.
After all, the show has promised there’ll eventually be a special tribute to Tristian Rogers when Robert Scorpio finally gets his memorial episodes.
Sasha will surely need to come back to be part of all that, so it’d be a good time to start fresh with a new actress.
Plus, it was just confirmed that Kate Mansi (Kristina Corinthos-Davis) didn’t renew her contract at GH.
Mansi chose to walk away and has already wrapped filming, so the show has an open contract spot and more money to play around with.
Of course, it’s possible they could recast Kristina, but she’s honestly not doing much of anything these days.
This feels like a good opportunity to write Kristina out for a while and rest the character.
GH Executive Producer Frank Valentin supposedly wants to leave the door open for Kate Mansi anyway.
That plan could change, but it’s also possible Valentin could see more value in recasting someone like Sasha right now.
Sasha could ultimately come back with Michael Corinthos’ (Rory Gibson) baby girl, Daisy Gilmore (Brenden and Evelyn Beimford), and give Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) some romantic competition.
Since Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) was the one who drove Sasha out of town, maybe Sasha could find out the whole truth and make it her mission to get revenge.
It’d be fun to see Sasha and Willow going up against each other as fierce enemies.
There’s a lot of stories that can be told with Sasha at the moment – arguably far more than the ones that can be told with Kristina.
It might be better to go with a Sasha recast than a Kristina recast as a result, so we’ll see if Sofia Mattsson’s replacement might be in the works.
