Could Sonny’s heart problems flare up and leave him in desperate need of medical attention?
Since Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) is a cardiac surgeon, the show will presumably have him operate on someone’s heart eventually.
That someone might be Sonny if his former heart issues come back into play and force another procedure.
The timing might be right for Sonny’s health setback since it could force certain Port Charles residents to reexamine their feelings and stances.
For starters, almost losing Sonny could prompt ADA Justine Turner’s (Nazneen Contractor) love confession and perhaps the desire to somehow be with Sonny for real despite all their complications.
Of course, Sonny’s heart crisis could also affect Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), especially now that he’s decided to get out of the mob.
Jason insisted he couldn’t kill for Sonny anymore, but what if his decision to make this mob exit leaves Sonny vulnerable?
In other words, Sonny might become the victim of an attack that leads to his heart danger.
Jason might blame himself in the aftermath and get pulled back into the mob – at least long enough for Sonny to recover.
This might even affect Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) feelings toward Sonny if the show decides to steer her away from Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and back toward her ex-husband.
We can’t forget about that flash drive that Brick (Stephen A. Smith) delivered, which feels like a bit of a ticking timebomb for Carly and Valentin’s relationship.
What happens once Valentin and Carly’s romance inevitably explodes?
That could pave the way for Carly to want Sonny back and put her at odds with Justine.
It all depends on what romantic direction GH writers have in mind for Carly long-term, but Sonny’s medical drama could affect her regardless.
As for Tristan, he deserves an opportunity to put his skills to good use, so maybe Sonny will end up on the operating table eventually.
It could lead to Tristan performing emergency surgery and perhaps saving Sonny’s life.
