General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) has undergone a major character transformation in recent years.
There was a time when Willow was a classic soap heroine and someone who definitely fell into the “good girl” category.
Of course, those days are long gone at this point. Now Willow is firmly in the “bad girl” column since she’s been doing some downright villainous things to get what she wants.
We’ve all heard Willow’s “I’ll do anything for my children” mantra more times than we can count.
However, Willow’s desire for custody of Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko) doesn’t excuse all the outrageous crimes she’s committed.
Willow played baby stalker and drove Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) out of town with Michael’s youngest daughter, Daisy Gilmore (Brenden and Evelyn Beimford).
Willow also shot Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) twice, tried to point the finger at Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) and ultimately started drugging Drew into a state of paralysis.
We can’t forget that Willow was willing to blackmail her own mother and the one person who’s shown her true loyalty throughout all this.
Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) didn’t hold it against Willow, but maybe she should have!
Nina has certainly had some rotten luck in the daughter department since Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) was such a walking disaster, too.
Sadly, Nina never even got to be a real mother to Nelle since she didn’t find out their true connection until Nelle was already dead.
That’s perhaps part of why Nina’s so willing to overlook Willow’s flaws and keep covering for her, even when Willow clearly belongs in prison or a mental institution.
Nina has latched onto her second-chance daughter and the one remaining opportunity she has to be a mom.
Unfortunately, Willow could be headed down the same deadly road as Nelle if she’s not careful.
Out-of-control soap characters like Willow sometimes end up written into a corner with no way out.
Redemption may be an option, but it’s also possible GH writers will eventually kill Willow off just like Nelle.
